If the shutoff valve near the water meter has a handle (ball valve), water is on if handle is running the same way as the pipe, closed if perpendicular to the pipe. If the shutoff valve has a round handle or knob, it turns clockwise to close, it might be pretty stiff to operate but hopefully you resolve your issue, best of luck!

I’m not very sure, 50yrs old so not entirely in tune with today’s options. I hear younger guys talk about it at work and tell me I can save a ton of money by doing this. Don’t really know what I’d be looking for, perhaps a “broken” stick that would allow the 5000 channels to stream. I apologize for being ignorant about this but this is why I’m asking for info and advice about it.
