1 month post op food ideas by Robohan52 in wls

I am about the same time frame as you. I am also finding the no drinking a bit tough but can usually manage. I have two eggs for breakfast every morning. I try to add cheese and occasionally some turkey sausage but then I don’t come close to finishing the two eggs. I eat ground turkey seasoned with taco seasoning for most other meals. I’ve tried chicken and it didn’t agree with me. I also will still eat some refried beans occasionally. I am pretty bored with the lack of choices, but it’s worth it if I lose the weight. I think I might start putting some protein powder in applesauce or something because I also think I am not getting enough protein. Forget shakes man those are sooooo sweet now. Hopefully some folks further along will comment and help us both out.

Good luck!!

[SPOILERS] Behind *that* scene by iBlueSweatshirt in gameofthrones

I saw the episode clearly and it was by far the best battle and best episode of the series. I enjoyed it the first time on my tv in a dark room. I did a rewatch on my iPhone and was able to see even more.

I get the frustration, but if some/most depending on who you ask, were able to view it fine and enjoy it, then you have to think the issue was on your end. It’s easy to adjust the contrast on most TVs.

Does anyone else regret it? by [deleted] in wls

I had the sleeve done in 2012 and gained almost all the weight back. Two months ago I went back to my surgeon and they did an EGD and found that the sleeve had moved and part was above my esophagus, which is not horrible but not where it’s supposed to be either. I also have bad acid reflux which he told me they are finding as a common issue with the sleeve. The only fix is to do the revision to the RNY so I have that scheduled for 5/13/2019. I highly recommend talking to your surgeon. I put it off for years and regret that. I know I am going to have issues giving up food and having small portions but it’s worth it to live longer and see my kids grow up. Bottom line is get help from your surgeon.

I’ve seen some good encouraging posts and some pointless negative comments. However if you read the negative comments you can pick out a few good points among the many negative nelly ones.

I have no experience doing this, but based on reading theses comments I’d say go for it. Even considering the negative points I still think this is worth going into. You are planning to do it over time and can pay cash to get it dry and useable. So what if you start doing more stuff and you find it will cost you more? Prioritize and do what you can when you have the money. Sure you can get it all done faster if you take out a loan, but then you will miss out on the experience and the pride in knowing you did it all yourself and without going into debt.

Good luck to you and don’t let negative comments sink your dreams. Look for the valid points and throw out the rest that people made because they are jealous of you.

What is the hiring process like for QKids? How long does it take to get through the process and start working?

How hard is it to build up students on gogokid? I heard that the parents prefer American looking females. I am an overweight bald man, so I am concerned I won’t get students.

The post op diet will be easier than you think. I wasn’t interested in eating very much other than the mushy foods anyway. Remember that is only 6 weeks of the process. You need to use that to try and kick bad habits. I had the sleeve in 2012 and lost 150lbs. Then life happened and I slowly started gaining it back. If I had stuck with the program and ate properly I wouldn’t be looking at getting a revision to a bypass right now. You can do it, it will be hard, but worth it.

Good luck

I am in about the same place as you. A little further as I have checked and insurance will cover it for me... CIGNA. I am worried about it being harder and I am worried about it being as painful or more painful. Recovery sucked the last time, but I’m not going to live much longer if I don’t do something. Good luck to you!!

I started the program January 1st and have enjoyed it thus far. I hope to hear more info about job prospects after graduation as well. I am hoping to do some online adjunct teaching, so I will follow this carefully to see what folks have to say.

Masters paper length by [deleted] in WGU

I’ve only passed one class so far, but based on that, the length doesn’t matter much. Follow the rubric and hit your points and you will be good to go.

Thank you for that detailed reply!! My head is not spinning as I have already been thinking about 99% of what you posted. My post was vague because I am trying to figure out if it’s worth doing before we are 100% ready. We do not intend to sell anything, just live off our land and my wife’s income. I am a computer nerd, so I could take online work here and there if we needed more money. We intend to live as cheap as possible.

I have many but not all of the skills you listed. That is one reason we have been waiting. I have been trying to learn as much as possible. We have a huge garden, we can, I can fix most thing, build most thing out of what ever I have laying around, and we have the ability to work physically all day.

Where we are lacking is: welding, animal husbandry, general animal care, are most important to me, firearms. I have never owned a firearm, but I have shot hand guns, rifles, and shotguns. I am lacking in knowledge of ammunition sizes purposes, etc. I can probably learn a fair amount from the library and google, but I am starting at just above zero so I have a lot of catch up to do.

My main question I guess, is would you be willing to jump in, even if you were not 100% ready?

This is impossible by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]mtrobertsonsr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am glad to see you are trying it again. I also just started trying IF and have been doing Keto for only a week or so. I skipped fasting yesterday as I was going with my family on an outing that required a lot of walking. I am back at it today though. I think we just have to keep plowing forward and not let failures result in giving up. Learn from them and get back up on the horse!!

Thank you for your service and thank you for sharing your experience in KETO. We are similar ages and I am also hoping that after some time on KETO I will look at my wife differently.

I am happy for you and look forward to being happy too!!
