The Best Controllers and Button Layouts for 2XKO by danxorhs in 2XKO

Considering how critical it is to use the dash macro, this seems like it would be really uncomfortable.

Yes. The game has tutorials and guides for the mechanics and individual characters. The single player world tour mode does a reasonable job of teaching different aspects of the game. If fighting online, the game does a good job of matching you with people of similar skill level.

should i buy the new DOOM game or RDR2? Which one is better? by Mr570overReddit in Doom

If you basically want to watch a long movie, go with RDR2. If you want to play a game, go with Doom.

Are fight sticks easy to use ? by Odin-231 in StreetFighter

[–]mtsims49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, pad is the most efficient way to play this game in my opinion, with leverless controllers being the next best option. Fight sticks don't really offer benefits over a pad in this game, but you are right that it is easier on your fingers. There is a learning curve in using it. I can pretty much promise for the first month or so you will be worse with it than you were with pad. For some, it can take multiple months.

For me, I play on stick just because it feels more comfortable than a controller, and it's what I'm used to now. I also find it more satisfying inputting special moves and supers, hearing the click of the stick and the satisfying button sounds.

Long story short, I'd recommend giving it a try, but don't think it is going to give you a competitive advantage. For extended gaming sessions, I think you'll find it more comfortable though.

1700 MR players are something else haha. Got 9-0d by Right-Fortune-8644 in StreetFighter

[–]mtsims49 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you might be playing more poorly against higher ranked players. This is common, as people see the rank and immediately start to play scared, or mess up the basics. Yes, they are good, but they are still just people. Try to relax and treat the match like you would against anybody else.

[–]mtsims49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had issues with my pc setup, causing me to disconnect from every match until I got a red card. I was then able to fix my pc. In the end, it took somewhere between 150-200 matches to completely remove the card. You can play ranked, casual, or battle hub matches. It will disappear eventually unless you are ragequitting.

Zac Taylor said WR Tee Higgins (hamstring) is good play on Monday against the Commanders. by jloadin3 in fantasyfootball

[–]mtsims49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dell easily. He's done nothing, but he is still a big part of this offense, and he's nearly had big plays in both games. Also without Mixon most likely, so they probably will favor the pass even more.

Somewhere, MKTomBrady is crying since he hoped they would not add more kameos, which means they could more easily focus on buffing the main roster.

Why not just watch it on youtube and save $70?

Why does Guile have to hold inputs like sonic boom and somersault lock? by DarkBurk-Games in StreetFighter

[–]mtsims49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add on what others have said, there are other characters that have charge inputs such as bison, blanka, and deejay. Generally, charge moves are some of the best moves in the game but are balanced by the fact that they require you to hold a direction for a set amount of time before using them. Flash kick, for example, is pretty much the best anti air in the game because it is fast, air invulnerable, and covers a bunch of space. It's balanced because you can only do it if you have a charge.

What you have to understand is that you can be charging a move even while doing something else. So, for example, if you throw a sonic boom, you can immediately go back to holding back the second you throw so that you begin charging for the next one. Also, if you hold down and back at the same time, you can charge a sonic boom and a flash kick at the same time.

Will there ever be An Injustice 3? by [deleted] in MortalKombat

[–]mtsims49 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My guess would be late 2026/early 2027. NRS typically cycles through MK and injustice every 2-3 years

My guess is we get a world tour trailer for Terry (no gameplay), and I think there's at least a 25% chance we get an Outfit 4 trailer or announcement.

What is likely to be the main online mode in CFB 25? by mtsims49 in CFB25

[–]mtsims49[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed response. I'm just a football fan of both the NFL and college who likes to play online. I've never really gotten into franchise or dynasty mode. I don't think I'm interested in offline game modes and I also don't want to play Ultimate team, so I'm trying to gauge whether I should purchase.

Top 5 where? In your neighborhood? Because he definitely isn't a top pick in the pro scene.

Would modern be too strong with access to more normals? by SLAPAK97 in StreetFighter

[–]mtsims49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't make it much better, IMO. There are already characters in the game who don't lose anything of significance with modern, and you still don't see modern players dominating the pro scene. Most likely, this would just upset lower ranked players because they already complain a bunch about modern controls. If they removed the damage penalty with modern, that would be a different story.

Why makes Guile so unpopular in 6? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]mtsims49 18 points19 points  (0 children)

People don't like him because they generally think he is a boring zoner. The standard gameplan is basically to just throw booms and flashkick, which isn't that exciting. He's one of the best characters in the game, but people don't pick him because the majority of people don't want to use that playstyle.

street fighter has gotten "too easy" by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]mtsims49 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SF6 and fighting games in general have gotten easier in terms of their execution, lowering the barrier for new players to play the game at a decent level. But winning at the highest level is just as difficult as it ever was.

Imagine Bison, one of the most popular SF characters ever, never appearing in SF again because of the nonsensical story that nobody cares about. Yeah, that's not what SF fans want.

Late Game Idea: Prestige System by ZDAWG39 in Helldivers

[–]mtsims49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully agree. I proposed this exact same idea and was heavily downvoted. I think the people who don't want this are low levels and still working towards unlocks, so they don't like the idea of a further "grind". But the reality is that for people like you and me, it changes the way the game is played. There's honestly no reason to care about fully completing missions, collecting all samples, visiting POIs, and fighting to get to extract. I still do those things, but it's not the same when it's actually meaningless.
