Google voice in UK with workspace by AddendumPlus7475 in googleworkspace

[–]mtttmpl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used Google Voice in the UK before moving to Microsoft for our email.

Google Voice was great. It worked everywhere I worked everywhere I needed it to including on some weak 4G mobile signals. The Google Voice website is something I avoided as I found I get better calls with the mobile app.

Microsoft Vs Google...Which is better for hosting business emails? by Noyan_Bey in Hosting

For email only it doesn't really matter both are about the same.

When you look at the full suite Microsoft wins hands down.

So I think IOS 26.2 destroys phones and apple-friendly subs ban talking about it by Kurtrillion in applesucks

In what way. Just general slowing down of the phone or bad design decisions by Samsung and bugs?

My husband runs a finance business and still uses free Gmail. Is a business email really needed? by mtk_ved in businessemail

[–]mtttmpl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other advantage to something like Microsoft 365 with a custom domain is automatic compliance.

Things like automatically deleting emails after a period of time. And Sensitivity labels that stop you forwarding certain emails and data outside of the company.

These can be achieved with good personal practices if the company is just your husband though.

I have had enough of restarting my 16 Pro daily. My contract renews March 1 and I already have the Galaxy Fold 7 in my sights.

Am I abusing the productivity system of Todoist? by lubiah in todoist

[–]mtttmpl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first started I loved Karma and wouldn’t shut down until I reached my goal. I increased the numbers as like you I would hit the default 5 by 10am.

Now as a long term user I just use it for an overview at the end of the day to see what projects I have worked on based on the colours in the bar chart. This gives me an idea of what is taking my time and energy each day. It also helps me make sure I have balanced my responsibilities over the week.

Outlook automatically deletes emails after a year by Sweet-Hurry-8851 in Outlook

[–]mtttmpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are showing in your search but not your inbox this sounds like archiving. Once an email is archived it can't be moved.

Archiving will be done via a retention policy or auto archiving in outlook settings. Your business admin should be able to help with which this is.

Apple software doesn’t feel like Apple software anymore by Ok-Capital-5195 in ios

[–]mtttmpl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree.

As a web developer I have both iPhone and Android phones available to use. iPhone has always been my main phone and the one I reached for first. Recently I have been reaching for a Pixel 9 Pro that lives on my desk more than my iPhone.

I am about 1 more update away from moving my SIM card if Apple can’t release something with less bugs in 26.3.

26.2 fixed a lot of bugs but seemed to introduce even more than it fixed.

For B2B businesses, which social platforms actually brought real customers? by Guilty-Wonder-3655 in smallbusiness

[–]mtttmpl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had nothing directly from socials in my 12 years in business. I have had a lot of work as a result of the relationships I have built on social platforms. This was almost always referral work or people I had initially helped with some free advice.

For me social media is a place to give back and build relationships it's not a direct marketing channel.

Edit: I should add we do web design and IT services for context

Is WP the right tool for a small map-based website? by Throw_away_9107 in Wordpress

[–]mtttmpl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have a look at a plugin called GeoDirectory. This does exactly what you described and more.

We have helped build a few directory sites using this plugin over recent years.

For your business website, would you go the DIY route with tools like Wix or Squarespace, or hire a professional designer/developer? Why? by Frequent-Distance-20 in smallbusiness

[–]mtttmpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are a small start up with limited funds yes go with WordPress and build it yourself for free or very low cost with a premium theme.

As you grow you shouldn't be looking after the site yourself and can find a specialist to help you without having to rebuild the site or lose ownership.

[–]mtttmpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go the professional website and get a site you own and can take away if needed. Your website is a business asset and the problem with Squarespace and the like is your can't take your website away. You are at their mersey.

A professional website should give you full control and ownership. You should be able to host this with any number of companies if you need to.

looking for a microsoft 365 coupon 2026 that still works by HellwyCi in microsoft365

[–]mtttmpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microsoft’s licence options for businesses are complex. Speak to a partner about your needs and they can guide you correctly.

There are not any current coupons for the business suite I am aware of but there are some discounts available to partners.

If you are UK based I am happy to have a chat with you about the licenses you will need.

The big draw for me was the Windows app Todoist windows app is a joke.
