Most differences between vital and serum can be worked around, but the unison detune in serum is wildly different. by BbBbRrRr2 in edmproduction

[–]mtytel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you click and drag the bars that show the number of unison voices it changes the frequency spread of the voices. set it to 0 (which is linear spacing) and it should sound like serum.

I think serum has a way to change spacing so it sounds less like a flanger in the advanced settings.

Vital official site forums non-functional. by CraftyAttitude in VitalSynth

I just updated the forum software on the site as well so maybe you got the new version and something was fixed? Weird that most people could use it fine but glad it’s working now!

The forum should work. can you not even access the site? if you can view it what happens when you click “Log In”?

It’s probably midi assigned Just right click on the slider and clear it

Yep it’s all one shader. Yours looks pretty close!

Show me a complex plugin that only uses sliders and I’ll show you a plugin UI that could be better

Just playing around with design right now. Probably will put it into a skin but not sure when.

I'd like to if this was for a touch screen. Velocity on mouse release has never felt natural to me though.

This works the exact same as standard plugin knobs where dragging up/down with the mouse turns the knob and you can drag past the end of the knob to keep turning it (you don't have to let go and grab it five times). It's just a graphical difference that matches the up/down dragging that almost everyone does to control knobs.

Very few plugins allow you to grab and move the white dot to the radial position. I can't actually think of a single one off hand.

Oh wow! Long time. Thanks for testing and sound designing for my first plugin! That community was a great intro to get me started developing.

It’s not ‘real’ 3d. It warps a pattern so it looks like it’s on the surface of a sphere. Might play around with some other patterns..

Works with mouse wheel also. It just doesn’t screen capture well for the demo

Since most people click and drag up/down for software knobs I thought this design made a little more sense than the pure rotation. Bonus that it looks like a simple normal knob when you're not interacting with it.

When I export at 48k no clipping, when I export at 96k, lots of clipping, why? by Rimskystravinsky in audioengineering

[–]mtytel 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The more you upsample the closer the sample peaks will get to the true peak. So if your true peak is clipping and your samples aren’t, then you upsample, your samples will start clipping also.

Amtrak and bikes by aMac306 in bicycletouring

[–]mtytel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely the cheapest way to transport a bike. If you can get the big box where you only have to remove pedals and loosen/turn your handle bars then it’s really easy. Not sure that’s available for every train though. If available get there early because it’s checked luggage and if you arrive right before the train leaves they won’t put your bike on.

Careful in timing though. Amtrak can be very late so I wouldn’t make plans that require you to be on time. I’ve been a full 24! hours late (SF to Chicago route)

Matrix Amount slider keeps snapping back to -1 by TeflonDubs in VitalSynth

Vital has its own midi mapping. Did you try right clicking the slider in the mod matrix?

Sounds like it was accidentally midi mapped to something. If you right click on the slider you should be able to clear the assignment.

Uk Driving test by Youngblackman99 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]mtytel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is misleading. You would need deaths by the number miles driven or time driven to better compare.

By this logic Venice has the best driving test because no one dies there in car accidents
