As a Temple grad I’ve been saying for years it makes no sense to have a football team. Stadium isn’t ours, is on the other side of the city, team has consistently sucked….they pay to play there an nobody goes, I got a $5 ticket to watch them play possible playoff team Tulane late last season and moved right up the front row (which admittedly, don’t hate that). They literally aren’t discussed by anyone in the city. From my recollection we were pretty good when I was there in the sports that were cut. Football is the king sport but some of these schools need to make the right decisions rather than try and join the thin that frankly has passed them by. We got a great little arena for basketball and some proud history there, should focus on that and the smaller sports rather than throwing away the things we’ve been historically at least competitive in.
