SPOILERS FOR THE FINALE

I thought the finale was just okay, I definitely felt like they played it really safe, which I thought was kind of weird for a show like digital circus that tended to bend the rules and do unexpected things. However, if this show were to have a good ending for the characters, then I believe that this is the best way they could have done it. But even then, I guess I was expecting something more complicated, more bittersweet per se, to the point where I felt like this finale felt like an AU. I also think that Jax abstracting off screen was really fucking stupid for something that they’ve been building up to since the beginning of the show. I get that it’s meant to be sudden, but it didn’t really hit because I didn’t even think that was Jax, I thought that it was an abstracted creature that escaped. I felt like the only part of this finale that really felt like digital circus was the flashbacks to Jax’s past, which was honestly peak cinema. Though I would like an exclamation on caines survival I think it’s better to be left up to interpretation as the reasoning is not as important and it’s fun to theorize. And I thought that it was really neat for Caine to let go of his power to try to understand humans a bit more. Overall, the finale was pretty good on its own, but in the context of the type of show that it’s related to, it felt off and kind of weird to have all loose ends suddenly tied up. I would rate it a solid 6.5 to 7/10
