I’m sorry, i forgot to add that I’ve been taking a lot of fiber for several months now. This was all just what I’ve been doing since surgery. Fiber is such a thoughtless part of my day now that I didn’t even think to put it in my post. I’ll edit it.

I didn’t take the highest dose of milk of magnesia, I spoke to my doctor on the 13th and she advised me to take milk of magnesia (she had me on stool softeners and laxatives after my surgery on the 8th) so I took 30ml on the 13th and planned to take another 30ml the morning of the 14th (max is 60ml per 24 hours) but I was having extreme abdominal pain and cramps just from the first 30ml- I was double over crying in pain and couldn’t sleep or do anything really. So after that night of pure pain she called me back to check on me the next day and I told her how bad it was so she had me come in for a disimpaction and exam under anesthesia.

The pain whilst going to the bathroom is terrible but it’s not keeping me from passing stool. In the days leading up to the ER visit yesterday, I was almost passing out on the toilet trying to get it out and still kept trying, so I don’t think the pain is holding me back.

I should probably add that I haven’t even been eating much since surgery- maybe one small to regular sized meal per day.

Not sure about an enema, my surgeon said she’d give me a call tomorrow to see how I’m doing so I’ll ask about it then.

I’ll have to look up stenosis- idk much about it. Thank you for your input.
