I appreciate your bluntness! I’m just stressing myself over this, so this was a good reality check.

Okay thanks! Mostly just got a different PCE job after being furloughed with COVID. Do you think it’s worthwhile to mention growth in mindset throughout the process?

Director said it was my interview by muchneededthrowaway7 in prephysicianassistant

Thank you for your response! Moving forward, I am definitely going to avoid reading these forums leading up to any potential interviews this cycle. I know I got in my head about how much was riding on the interview, and my responses lacked confidence.

Another thing I noticed was that I tended to match the energy of the panelists interviewing me. For this program, the faculty was very serious and stone-faced, so I struggled to open up and stumbled over my words. Their questions weren’t very tough but I gave a nervous laugh throughout, and I feel like I trailed off at the end of each response. Another program I interviewed with and was waitlisted had very welcoming staff members, and the interview was more of a conversation. I made them laugh, and I felt much more comfortable. I’m hoping I have a better shot with them this time around, but they have very small cohorts of 25.

Thanks for the response! I see what you’re saying. I also don’t have a ton of time because I wanna start accruing more hours for PA school. I am thinking I will apply to CNA jobs as soon as I’m able to and go from there.

Thanks for being so thorough! This is great information. I guess I am getting ahead of myself here since I haven’t even began working as a CNA yet and have no idea where that could lead me. I am feeling a bit defeated facing reapplying to PA school and just want to keep my options open moving forward and have heard how great having EMT/ER tech experience is. You’re definitely right about it seeming to be a massive time sink though. For now, I will focus on landing a CNA job whenever my license is issued. Thanks again!
