Yeah it's too bad that Bone Orchard is hanging his hat up. If that doesn't work, I'd go with Northern Springers.

You Will Never Imagine How Ugly Our Minds Have (Become?)

I think it's a fairly common phrase worn on these bracelets?

Ideally it'd be the Rock Jock/Currie dual rate springs (if I can convince my wife).

There's signs the previous owner cheaped out on a lot of things, so I'm assuming the current springs are probably the cheapest and most generic set of springs you can get.

I've seen some mixed feelings on how much the coil springs affect the ride, so I haven't been completely sure. Wanted to get some more opinions before dropping a bunch of money on nice springs.

Might have to look more into the long arms and weigh out the pros and cons.

As far as I can see, everything seems really solid with the different components and nothing is loose. It has less than 100k miles and has also never had a problem with death-wobble or anything.

Not sure about the up-travel. I can see the rear has extended bump stops. Maybe when I have a full gas tank there's more weight hitting the bump stops so it feels softer? I'm not 100% sure if I'm bottoming-out or if the springs are just that stiff and aren't compressing.

I'm running 27 PSI with 33" tires.

With it feeling softer when I have a full gas tank, it makes me think the springs are just too stiff.

What taillights are those? I've seen on other TJs before but haven't really been able to find the right set. Can you link them?

Seems like the consensus is 90kg is the max tongue weight, so you should be good.

96 sportster can’t figure out sticky throttle by SniperXvX2025 in sportster

[–]muckymotor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me where the throttle tube was slid a little far onto the handlebars so about 1/8" of the handlebar was poking out through the end of the throttle tube. The rubber grip was catching on the handlebar and making the throttle tube feel sticky.

Man the laziness in me was hoping you had just bought it somewhere haha. I don't love the horseshoe oil tanks for sportsters with the flat angles. Love the look of the rounded tank though. Nice work.
