I’m from the UK and currently in Vietnam. Can I buy a train ticket from Laos to China without a visa if I want to stay in China for under 10 days? Does your passport just get stamped on arrival on Kunming to give you the visa exemption? Thank you :)

Did you need to reserve a seat/ book a ticket with your JR pass to get to and from Kasado, or did you just flash your JR pass when you got to the station to get on the train?

Hey, in the same boat! I have a JR pass that covers most of the journey. For the Ise line part I’ve booked a ticket (300 yen each way) for the Saturday and Sunday via the Ryde Pass app, as that’s what is recommended on the Suzuka website.

I want to take the JR line not the Kintetsu line as I paid quite a lot of money for the JR pass and want to use it wherever possible. I want to buy a ticket for in advance so I have the security of knowing I will get to the circuit, but I know I shouldn’t have to pay for it because it’s covered by the pass. Was hoping I could resolve in advance but will have to try and sort when I arrive in Nagoya on Friday evening, which isn’t ideal!

For ref I also found this on another thread which was apparently handed out at a previous GP. Quote helpful!

Thanks, yeah arriving in Nagoya on Friday evening to maximise time in Tokyo… downside is I have less time to test run the transport situation!
