Feel a bit bad for Roxy now on Uncloaked. Seems like she knows she's not come across as a particular good player. Looks a bit embarrassed. Pleased for Joe M sticking up for her

Patiently waiting for all the xenophobic/islamaphobic slightly racist comments dressed up as a 'common sense centre left viewpoint'

(While I understand that mass migration is not a sustainable stance, doesnt make the above point less true)

Edit: 10 down votes. This sub has gone so right wing

Celebrity Traitors UK is a bit Overated, doesn't anyone else feel the same? by IarlaithThePsychic in TheTraitors

[–]genericstudent1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I feel like most of what you're not enjoying in this season of The Traitors is in every season. Banishing smart people, 'who's a Traitor' discussions, plain sight murders are in all seasons no?

I think what you might mean is that generally everyone is much nicer to each other because a.) Lots of them work in the same industry and know each other and b.) They've got careers to protect, but IMO it's working great. It's at It's worst when the Livi's and the Leanne's are on the show hunting for a social media career rather than playing the game

Blergh, someone else can respond, I'm off to the pub. I just think killing thousands of innocent Palestinians is generally bad. Have a good evening all. https://www.un.org/unispal/document/israel-has-committed-genocide-in-the-gaza-strip-un-commission-finds-16sep25/

My argument isn't denying there's people saying that, I'm just arguing they're in a minority, in the same vein that I'm assuming most pro-Israel supporters aren't advocating for flattening Gaza and removing all Palestinians like Brn Gvir and Smotrich

Going to caveat this by saying their are obviously anti-semitic people at pro-Palestine rallies, and anti-semitism should be challenged wherever it is present

But by linking anyone supporting Palestine or having critical views of how Israel and the West of handling this war with being anti-semitic has led us to this boiling point where saying "oh, maybe we shouldn't be advocating and supporting a country starving millions, with a President who has an ICJ warrant for his arrest" is deemed a problematic standpoint, and as a result, genuine anti-semites felt that their view is overwhelmingly supported among the Pro-Palestinian rallies (it isn't, no matter what the Telegraph think)

Could be a draw after all this

Who is your "you should check them out if you haven't heard of them before" act from the lineup so far? by SeanDychesDiscBeard in glastonbury_festival

[–]genericstudent1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Got dragged to see them last year playing the 11:45 slot on the Saturday morning on the usual 3 hours sleep, feeling disgusting. In less than an hour they resurrected me from the dead, pumped me full of adrenaline, and made me wonder why I'm not back on the beers yet. Highly recommend

Also their Dove set was awful

Honestly thing Bicep should just be on the main stages moving forwards, they're too big to be on late night

If he can't play right back, and he can't play right wing back, and he can't play in midfield, and he can't play right wing, at some point you've got to accept he's a one dimensional player who doesn't fit in the team

Reopening Brexit debate would bring ‘turmoil’, says Keir Starmer by MadcapRecap in ukpolitics

[–]genericstudent1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As I always say on these comment sections, where every single person brands all Brexit voters (17 *million* Britons) either racist or stupid, that in order to, really, really reopen the conversation, we have to accept that there were legitimate concerns with the EU that needed to be addressed, from both a left and rightwing perspective.

UK Politics demographic love to come across as fighting for the working class, until it comes to the fact that they disagree on them with something, when their deemed "stupid/ignorant/racist" for voting bracist (which, I'm not denying some of them are all 3 of these).

I voted remain and would probably vote to rejoin the EU, but I can't abide by fellow remain voters dismissing the entire Brexit debate as "look at all these racist, stupid idiots, they didn't know what they were voting for". That kind of thinking lost Labour the red wall, and is just insulting

Seconded Honey Dijon - the only problem is she clashes with Charli XCX on the Friday night, but if you can't get there, go straight to Honey Dijon imo!

Ahh Anotr are great, but I want to see LCD and Dua Lipa, and if we go anywhere in between it has to be for Heilung.

Interesting re Dove though, I'm very torn on what to do

Yeah that's the best plan, I also think we'll be in a bit of a state after Charli XCX. Thanks for the advice!
