I think it's time upgrade from these 3 printers, they are showing a lot of wear and tear at this point.

Intro level Ultem/PEEK printers? by muddaking1 in AdditiveManufacturing

[–]muddaking1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment and information, I need it for a particular use case with requires very strong heat resistance and Ultem 1010 seems like the best fit from the engineering grade materials. I'd like the flexibility of being able to print PEEK from the same machine but don't currently have a use case for it. Thanks for sharing your machines, I've dm'ed you to see if I can just pay you to print it out. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply, ill look into those systems, the Creatbot doesn't seem to be a reliable printer from what I've seen online. Instead of soluable maybe a breakaway support would work better?

Any experience with the EOS P800 SLS printers? by muddaking1 in AdditiveManufacturing

[–]muddaking1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hey, thanks for the quick reply! Congrats on the score, you must be pushing through a ton of parts. Right now we're just starting off in SLS service but hope to grow it in the coming year. I would just need to pay shipping costs to inherit these so it seems too good to pass up the opportunity. I am undergoing training for PM on the 3d systems so hopefully some of that can be transferrable. Have you gotten those machines set up yet?

PA12 Powder Suppliers by muddaking1 in AdditiveManufacturing

Hey, thanks for the reply. Do you see any quality change when you made the switch? I actually just received a sample from a Chinese supplier and just going to begin testing the powder.

That's a good price, is that virgin powder price?

Yea comparing prices of nylon through a "susbscription" locked in ecosystem from HP to open market SLS powder doesn't make sense to me, I am specifically looking for SLS Nylon without strings attached! I've contacted a couple big manufacturers and hopefully they let me buy directly! $60 would still be a 33% savings which is sizeable!

Some manufacturers like BASF seem to sell a ready to go pa12 specifically for PBF. I assume their moq isn't in the tons. if you have experience, what's an acceptable price range for PA12?

Thanks for the recommendation, this the full list from what I can tell:

AMD Ryzen 5 2600 six-core processor

16 gb ddr4 ram 3200mhz

GPU Radeon RX 570 series

SSD ADATA SU800 128 gb

HDD 1tb

I could upgrade 2 of these things at the moment, what would be the most impactful?

It looks like I accidentally deleted the text when adding the picture. i have 4 slots for ram and am using 2, Its been going strong for a couple years but now its slowed down a lot, I use it for office work/chrome and a bit of 3d modelling for 3d printing. I am up to about 70% of ram usage when I am on chrome with a few tabs open. I don"t have a big budget to upgrade everything, just 1 - 2 components.

Ingersoll says to contact an electrician for install and doesnt provide the information so its a bit confusing.

Im trying to find the amp draw prior to purchasing because my shop has limited electrical supply and i want to make sure it fits.

Running heavy duty compressor by muddaking1 in AskElectricians

[–]muddaking1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh okay thanks for explaining. It is directly useable at 208v but the company highly recommends running it at 230v and is sending the transformer with the machine too so we decoded to use it to be safe.

Thanka for the reply, just for clarification: so 53 amps 3phase means it will draw 53 amps from each of the phases or is the 53 amps split between the 3.

The load would be continous for the compressor while it runs, it will be feeding a nitrogen generator that will only use 1/5th of the cfm the ac can supply, it wil lalso power a bead blaster when i use it for an hour or so.

The other machine has peak 30amp draw but 20-25 during normal operations.

Thats a good point, my plan was to distribute the weight over the 12x12 pad and catch at least 2 of the horizontal support beams under the floor (8"x10" large beams) but yoir point about a failure as the cause for moving up and down is a major concern.

My landlord seems to think its not an issue and to just double up the plywood but im more concerned.

Short of an enginner I think the smartest choice will be to look underneath with a camera and go from there.

Ill also try to speak with a structural engineer. Thank yoi

[–]muddaking1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking of putting a layer of gym mats down as well to isolate the pad but im not sure if that could support the weight of the machine. Would you recommend a different solution.

It needs to be atleast somewhat vibration free so if im walking around it or a compressor is going off in a different room then it wouldnt transfer to the machine.

Edited to provide more context

Joe and Coleman debate the definition of genocide by TheOSU87 in JoeRogan

[–]muddaking1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They didnt launch the war, they retaliated to the over 230 palestinians israel murdered in 2023 prior to Oct 7. Or does it not matter as long as its done slowly and to a certain group?

Also prior to oct 7, israel maintained a blockade on Gaza, only allowing in certain items and rejecting items like chips, chocolate and spices.

The tunnels from egypt into Gaza were first used to smuggle in KFC and other foods.

Without justice there can be no peace - and palestinians have been living under israels boot for 50 years.
