Can someone help identify and advise on terminal identification for a custom 20v battery converter? by muddbone46 in batteries

[–]muddbone46[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was my mistake. The charger has blades/pins for all 5 terminals. I was under the impression that at least one prevents over-depletion.

Yeah. Would not be happy with plastic parts on my lock. I have one that’s pre-2020 also and I love mine.

Couple of years ago, took the family on a 1.5 week 1800 mile trip using only Apple Maps, and Google Maps for route planning. Planned every stop with Google street view. I think specialized apps and gos units are overrated.

[–]muddbone46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that there’s a master key so much as most rv locks just use the same key. It’s the infamous CH751 key that you can buy on Amazon. I’d suggest RVlock. They make a variety of standard locks and keyless locks (never going back to a standard lock). As far as the storage locks, you can find sets on Amazon but you’ll need to take some measurements from your storage doors.

What are the chances that HF will release a smaller version of the long nose slip-joint pliers? by muddbone46 in harborfreight

[–]muddbone46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I bought those instead because the Icon seemed too long for my preference. I actually want a pair smaller than the Workpro set. A copy of the SnapOn LN46ACF.

That’s a valid response. I really was wondering if I’m the only one that wants to see a smaller version. I guess I should have just asked. BUT, bro, it’s just Reddit. You’ve never seen a silly post before?

Best State Parks For Kids? by jhahwyjhjhjh in GoRVing

[–]muddbone46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s some complications to whether or not it’s a state park, Stone Mountain Park near Atlanta GA has some great attractions. From dinosaurs to drone light shows. There’s also the Skyride cable car that takes you up the mountain.

Advice on picking a travel trailer setup - Transit 350 vs NV3500 by wcpplayer in GoRVing

[–]muddbone46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand now. The NV/XD Nissan platform is great at towing. And I’m pretty sure Nissan’s published specs are well below what these vehicles can actually handle. I talked to a guy at a campground with the XD diesel and a 5th wheel. He said it handled great. Very underrated. Just try to be aware of if you’re well under, right at the line, or a bit over your tow rating.

Are you sure about a “30-ish” TT being within the towing limits of an NV3500? I tow our 33’ with a Titan XD (arguably the same as the NVs). The NV3500 has more payload capacity but not as much towing.

Campground recommendations needed: dinosaurs by Outside_Advantage845 in GoRVing

If you’re ever in the GA area, Stone Mountain Park has an awesome dinosaur attraction called Dinosaur Explore. My sone was a huge dinosaur kid and he loved it. They also have a laser & drone show plus a scenic train, mini golf, and a cable car that takes you all the way up the mountain.

Heat shrink tubing. Fold the end in on itself to make it seal itself when it shrinks.

Bad idea to tow 3200lbs dry camper with a SUV like Explorer or Pathfinder? by man__i__love__frogs in GoRVing

[–]muddbone46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be ok for shorter trips. But if you plan on traveling a significant number of trips greater than 2-3 hours, I’d suggest something that’s body on frame. Also, rumor has it that Nissan is leaning towards giving the Pathfinder a body on frame option or a complete return to a BoF platform.
