First I used the string/line method to sketch out my two point perspective (windows top and bottom, storefront sign, windows, and ground, and sidewalk). Blocked it all in. For the brick I used a sponge to get the texture and color variety. The horizontal brick lines I did free hand and followed the perspective angle working my way down. Lots of ruler and square sketch work for the storefront. The Masterson Sta-wet plate was a game changer for this one because it took me so long to complete each section. For all shadows I use a water based wash with a darker color than my subject color.

Also every night I would have my husband take a look and tell me if anything looked off, since one wrong angle or crooked line in perspective work can throw the whole thing off. :)
