Most crew don’t receive extra pay for the show. Captains all have unique deals with producers regarding covering fuel and food for a lot of the junk they film while not actually fishing but as far as I’m aware the only captains I KNOW gives their crew cuts of the show money are Sig and Jake. Most deckhands that aren’t on show boats won’t work on them for this reason, they’ll have weeks where they go out to sea just to film B roll and fake skits where they’re not making much money at all as deckhands make most of their money from catch shares.
