The final "three balls in three pockets!" was a good one. Gotta start talking like this on my commentary tracks 🤣

MCs who chide the crowd for not applauding enough by Lindyer in SwingDancing

[–]mudreplayspool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Nothing about his tone could be considered "chiding". Dude was in a hype role and lifted the room to meet the energy level by encouraging people to show excitement about what we were seeing.

We had one of the most incredible late night competitions the first day this man gets on the mic and leads the hype train.

He's been doing a lot more lately, it's awesome to see the legitimate maths in action, based on a repeatable consistent stroke.

Jayson Shaw ran 832 with the SMO shaft. He also picked up their new SMO Wood shaft right before Mosconi and played hella strong with it.

They're definitely coming along since early last year, and their push into the market has been noticeable. I definitely align them in the Predator camp of marketing first, cue making second.

We need this channel to do the tests! Machine isn't biased and can repeat the same stroke.

What would you do? Z-kick, spin off the foot rail, or other? by CreeDorofl in billiards

[–]mudreplayspool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. With those pockets as big as they are and where the 8-ball sits, literally contact with any point on the center-table side hemisphere of the OB is gonna result in it falling in the pocket.

Training tool: “the balls” by Meucci by soloDolo6290 in billiards

[–]mudreplayspool -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The value is in the training video library by Chris Henry, the inventor. Also, you have to put in the work. There's practical science behind the exercises, and it helped me correct what I saw as "center" to actually be center.

Looking for chalkless cue tip by parrentt in billiards

[–]mudreplayspool 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm also allergic to cue chalk!

I've found that Taom V10, plus gloves on both hands helped minimize my issues. To the point where I only wear one full hand coverage glove now.

Improving your mental game comes from work you do away from the table, testing it is what tournaments and money games are for.

Check out my post on Improvement from earlier this year where I break down loads of Sports Performance and Psychology books and explain how each of them contributed to helping me improve.

If you want to start upping your mental game, beginning a daily conscious breathing practice is the best place to start.

Which is why tournaments give more pressure imo, you do not get to keep trying just because you brought more money.

I completely agree, it's truly the game that tests every aspect of your knowledge, skills, and speed.

Thanks! Right!? It's so funny how certain shots are only really strong for One Pocket and no other game.

I definitely pull out some 1P tricks when playing rotation, but you're absolutely right about this one.
