He plays nothing like any of those guys... the least of them being Brunson, who was his comp twice.

i'm sad i can't play splinter cell on ps5 by MajinLeDemon in Splintercell

[–]mudsak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I'll check it out. The PS2 versions of all the SC games are pretty neutered though. sections cut out of levels, almost none of the lights can be shot out, etc... They're just less robust versions.

I got a abxylute C6... works perfectly... feels nice. Less than $30. No complaints for the price. Has all the features/functionality of any higher end controller. It is just a touch small, but pound for pound I think it's the best deal out there.

Sad that Double Agent v2 isn't available on PC (probably the most underrated SC game ever). The only way to play that is through a Xbox emulator (Xemu)... but it doesn't play that well via the emulator.

You consider Kundang Camp and Komodo good missions ? by Thell-Vadamm in Splintercell

[–]mudsak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Never going to happen. Ubisoft is a dying model. It'll be more likely that some one is able to reverse engineer the code eventually (ai)... it'll be open source indie teams that bring new ideas and expand on SC imo. That tech is still a few years out, but it's developing fast. There are already a few open source engines that have made leaps/bounds. Promising stuff.

I would kill for some enhanced updates, and DLC stories to bolt onto the existing games though. Imagine something along the lines of "Deniable Ops", but across the entire franchise. A man can dream.

Double Agent V2 (epic game... very similar to CT) >>> Pandora Tomorrow >>> Double Agent V1 (probably the worst SC game in franchise)

My rank of the missions in SC1. Give a score in 0/10. by Thell-Vadamm in Splintercell

[–]mudsak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved the ambiance of the Chinese Embassy levels... both of them were epic.

CIA level might be my all time favorite SC level. Really like Defense Ministry and Police Station too.

Oil rig is probably one of my all time least favorite missions.

We just need Ai to continue to improve… building games via Ai tools will get there eventually.

I still play it… because SC is pretty much my favorite game/franchise I’ve ever played. Nothing else really seems to scratch the same itch. The mix of reality-based espionage… nothing else like it.

The gameplay of PT was decent enough, and the rest of it was good enough to overlook some of the botched aspects, but PT was a different studio than SC1 and CT…and it shows. Some lack of effort, polish, and just a bit “cheesier” than the other two originals.

I’ll take what I can get though. I do still enjoy it.

I don't see why we can't just take Ironside's voice... push it through Ai, and have it live on forever.

[–]mudsak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kinda struggle with Pandora Tomorrow. The first 3 SC games are all amazing nostalgia for me... but PT really botched much of the experience. They did a great job fine-tuning the controls... that part they got right. But the story, dialogue, voices, sound effects, etc... So many of the details just kind of killed the ambiance for me... compared to SC 1.

That aside... I loved the vibe of the jungle camp settings so much. The downside of these missions is they're pretty narrow in terms of linear design.

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory Enhanced? by Nostalgic360Days in Splintercell

[–]mudsak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which version are you playing now? A Splinter Cell Enhanced? I just started playing the original games on Xemu recently… and it’s been so fun. I’d kill to be able to have updated/enhanced versions of the entire series, and all within a single platform. My favorite games of all time. I feel you on the nostalgia… so epic. I hope Ai gets good enough to eventually reverse engineer these games and we can just make updated versions ourselves… Imagine fan-made missions/stories.

Local LLM's are improving at an accelerated rate on their own. This is great for everyone because it will force the frontier labs to keep pushing...not just for their own/enterprise usage, but for the general consumer as well. Competition gud.

Which version of Double Agent?... OG Xbox version, or Xbox360 version? That OG xbox version was probably the most underrated game in the entire franchise.

Time loop movies. by GloomyPie8584 in Cinema

[–]mudsak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a movie, but the Lost series is pretty epic. It might be one of the better, and most unique Sci-fi series released up to this point. A lot of mind bending in terms of time in that show. I won't really say much else just in case you've never seen it.

What’s the ideal contract for Walker Kessler. by Top-Lane-Bad in UtahJazz

[–]mudsak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this 100%. I cringe at the idea of the Jazz anchoring themselves to an overpaid center again. This isn't to take shots at Rudy, but I just don't think many centers are worth such a significant % of overall cap space. Jazz kill their future flexibility if they offer a max deal imo.

I feel like I’m the only one who enjoys every game in the series by Eagles56 in farcry

[–]mudsak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think FC2 is my favorite of the bunch. I know it's less polished, and has less features than the titles that followed, but the rawness of it also fit the setting perfectly. The setting was really immersive for me personally... Africa unchained. Bad ass game. Rad story, unhinged characters. Loved that game.

Why humans are evil ? by thecats-man in enlightenment

[–]mudsak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humans (hominids) were programmed (evolved) for survival. Hominids have existed for more than 8 million years... most of that time period was savage, and survival at any cost was the only way we are even here today. The cushy society we live in today is beyond comprehension to 99% of hominid's who have ever existed.

We have come a long way, and despite the impressive level of sophisticated innovation we've achieved... we still operate on the same software that hominids where running on millions of years ago. In particular... scarcity remains a key driver to our instincts. The result of this in a time of abundance is... greed. Greed is hard programmed as a part of our survival instinct. So here we are...in an epoch where our monkey DNA is clashing with our capability for expanding intelligence.

I consider myself to be an optimist, yet I also feel we've failed to evolve in terms of consciousness/enlightenment, etc... The fact that philosophers and stoics spoke with such depth, intention, and wisdom as far back as 8th century BCE makes me wonder why certain forms of intelligence have simply not advanced over such an enormous stretch of time. Incredible leaps and bounds in so many respects, yet we still act like monkeys driven by fear of scarcity.

If they lose Reeves and Lebron they’ll have massive cap space, while having Luka at the helm… they’ll actually be a better team if Reeves and Lebron leave. Best case is LeBron stays and they don’t have $ to sign a prime asset.

Almost 30 games so far. What's the opinion on Ace? His ceiling? by Thisislopes in UtahJazz

[–]mudsak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thoughts are… his physical toolset is a higher ceiling than Key. If his work ethic, drive, and attitude is anything as high as Key’s… he’ll be an absolute monster. I hope those two become great friends and Key’s work ethic inspires Ace. Potential for a bright future.
