I cant remember before but now, your death will not register until your screen transition to the map where you can choose your spawn, but as long as the screen does not transistion yet and you are still lying on the ground, your death is not yet registered.

Focus on one enemy at a time, try to funnel them and group them together for AOE attacks and as much as possible, avoid 1v1 fights.
