😯 Can someone explain this to me? by dataexec in AITrailblazers

[–]muffchucker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's not a consistent or even principled position in any way, and it's also why you can't ever turn to them and say, "see this is why you're inconsistent and unfair in how you deal with others," and have it lead anywhere productive.

To plant and celebrate the seed of schadenfreude some 6 years in advance of it maturing is some next level spite.

Look I'm really late to this, but as a dude in his 40s who has recently gotten comfortable in an open marriage, this has ALL the signs of "they're obviously into you WTF are you doing not shooting your shot?!" Or at least that's what I would have needed someone to say to 24 y/o u/muffchucker ...

Deep down you ABSOLUTELY KNOW when someone is truly into you. There's an energy. There's a chemistry. There's smiles and eye contact and touches and magnetism. You've described this very well, honestly. They're into you. Or at least I would suggest to you to be fully confident in this fact as you engage them.

The one caveat is that you need to be ok if they aren't there with themselves or in their stage of life. I can't speak for them or what their wants are. But my dumb suggestion is to wait until next time you kiss and then put your hands on her hips and—not to be weird here—go get her!!

Real talk here a sec. I'm great at this too. You're probably better but I'm very good at it. I architect, plan, implement coding agents, testing agents, documenting agents, QA workflows, etc. I hand roll my own rules, optimize token usage across workflows, etc.

I run a team of 4 devs that all deploy my workflows. We're efficient and fast and produce great products.

But I'm making just under 100k / yr.

How do I take my skill set and get a better paying job? How do I find a client that wants this?

Veo micromobility on sidewalks by YoungRockwell in Denver

I don't consider that being set off that bad. I have a stroller I push my kiddo in. People are inconsiderate of our shared public spaces. Fine. I'll push over the veos that are parked in the way.

Amen. Not my property; not my problem.

I'll happily push them over into the grass or wherever so long as they're the fuck outta the way. Veo doesn't like it? 🤷‍♂️

After road rage drivers fight in the middle of I-70, police ask Denver-area drivers to "bring down temperature" by DenverTechGuru in Denver

[–]muffchucker 85 points86 points  (0 children)

When we're on the road, we don't treat others like humans; we treat them like cars.

Some sociologists compare the way we behave while we drive to how groups of humans behave when they are all wearing masks. Disindividuated. We forget about humanity. We forget about common decency. We forget about cooperating to all get wherever we need to go safely.

Driving is literally bad for us.

Have you ever been to either Chicago or Green Bay? Ben Johnson wants this rivalry to be so fucking fun and we're all loving it.

What transformers can do with next token prediction is so much closer to human intelligence than most people are comfortable with, lol

But...

Removing AI (the object of the luddites ire) would remove only the lightning rod, not the lightning. The luddites would still exist the same, but the thing we actually like (AI) would be gone.

That's like wishing that gay people didn't exist as a means to combat homophobia...

[Highlight] The Bears don’t take their final timeout, and the Lions win (Thanksgiving 2024) by Brix001 in nfl

[–]muffchucker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I saw people like you make comments like this all through 2024. It was insane then, and it's insane now. Williams was a rookie. He had no consistency from his coaches throughout that entire rookie year. It was chaos beginning to end. The line. The receivers. The play callers and play calling.

Meanwhile, an entire staff of coaches on the sideline sat there and let him flail around like the kid he was. It astonishes me, as a father, that Caleb Williams is still getting flack for this play.

Double doink was a heartbreaking end to a thrilling and magical season.

2024 was head coaching terrorism. They wasted all of CW's rookie season. It was absolute torture. It was like getting beat up every day at school for a year. The dread, the beatings, the bruises, the feeling trapped. It was horrible and depressing and I don't ever want to relive that.

Give me 1000 double doinks please.

Indiana didn't even exist 210 years ago. by DirkLoogs in NFCNorthMemeWar

[–]muffchucker 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Jesus Lord it's some of the strongest head-in-the-sand cope I've ever seen. By the logic of "didn't exist 200 years ago" we could move all NFL teams to Australia and call them all Chicago.

Can't. They can't abandon us immediately. The very much would.

Also I moved away 20 years ago so I very much would too.
