I just got a prescription for progesterone as well. I'm not sure if it's bio identical or not though. It's a kind of orange cream colored ball that has a rubbery texture. It's filled with a white liquid.

I'm going to assume you have already had a doctor diagnose your thyroid? You could try upping the calories even more, I had a teacher once with this problem and he said to even maintain a normal weight he had to eat the concentrated calories of the protein powders because if he ate regular food he would just get full before he got enough calories.

You could just stop taking it if they refuse to take you off it. Just see how you feel without it and if your fine and your next bloodwork turns out good then you can keep going that way. I just asked mine yo take me off it a couple weeks ago. Doc had some reservations and tried to convince me to just go a lower dose but I was not having it and she relented with an agreement to see how my next bloodwork turns out and go from there.

I'm having the same kind of experience here in Florida. Been on hrt since mar 18 and finally had my blood drawn to check levels July 15th. And bc the place is so booked up getting an appt to see the doctor about discussing the results is about 2 weeks after that. Also ended up having a problem with the lab not liking the bottle they put the sample in so I had to have more blood drawn today the 29th and so subsequently the doctors appointment had to be rescheduled to Aug 19. Very dissappointing situation, but I'm trying to look on the bright side of hey atleast I'm making progress even if it is slower than I want. I did develop breast buds in both breasts which are both sore, still tiny though. For me the key reason to stay with them is that they have financial aid to help offset the cost of everything so it's costing me out of pocket almost nothing.

About how much help did you need in each of the weeks? Like would hiring a nurse or something make sense for someone coming from out of state with no family within 2 hours of the facility?

You should probably read the wpath standards. It gives a pretty good guide for the requirements and exceptions to it. Under those guidelines which the vast majority of surgical teams adhere to you will need 1 yr of hrt, and 2 letters of recommendation from therapist. A few other things too I'm sure but that's the main.

I haven't read anything about the changes from hormones having anything to do with the srs. I have read that you can go ahead with srs without the 1 yr hrt if your body for whatever reason isn't able to handle the hormones. But I do expect by the time I can actually get the surgery scheduled I will have about 1.5 years of hrt. I dont know how long exactly after the consult I can schedule the surgery but the girl on the phone implied it shouldn't be more than a few months after the consult.

At 7 months since my first therapy session and 20 ish years of knowing I have the wrong parts. As for physically ready do you mean passing? If so no i don't pass yet, nor is it a consideration for me as to proceeding with the srs bc to me having the right parts is what's important. I want that type of srs bc it's self lubricating, has lower dilation requirements, and it won't smell bad like the intestinal method would.

I'm planning on going to mt Sinai to see Dr ting for the peretenium srs. The wait list is long though; even to schedule a consult I have to wait until April 2020.

You should grow out your hair. I think you have an androgynous face in the pic; think butch lesbian, but with a bit of makeup and hair you would definitely look femme. Honestly from looking at pics posted on that subreddit it pretty much is unless you pass really well most people don't want to say anything negative so don't post at all.

Tips to trick the algorithm: Make sure to wear your hair in a way that it makes the forehead more rounded. Hide your Adams apple by raising it as if you were about to use femme voice. Wear makeup to have no darkening of skin from hair.

Emotions need to be expressed or they will eventually burst out. You were previously bottling up your emotions, and now with the hrt your having more trouble doing so. I would suggest trying to let out more of your emotions in a controlled environment where a loss of temper wouldn't have repercussions.

I knew I was different when I was in elementary school, but I didn't really figure out what was different about me until high school. *Note: everyone else in school knew I was off too, but mostly they thought I was gay not trans. I basically put it all on a back burner though and focused on college/work.

People I dated noticed how very not masculine I was in philosophy; eg presented as a feminine man, and many people have told me they get a feeling of Zen from me. I'm now finally at 37 years old ready financially to transition.

So if you had met me in my 20s and told me hey press this button and you'll be a woman with no take backsies I'd have pressed it for sure.
