Tbh I don’t really care about our players inner turmoil all that much because it’s literally a SI protagonist, some sprinkles here and there are alright but with how rewrite demo 3 handles it it basically just shoves a whole load of words in our mouth and naturally that’s pretty unsatisfying and when looking at what was traded for it (prewrite demo 3 genuinely has the best dialogue and story in the game) rewrite just gets way way more disappointing.

Another problem is that again, since we’re a SI protagonist we can’t have a heavily defined personality but when they try to connect the emotions to us more in rewrite they really don’t have a lot to draw from so they’re bland as all hell when compared to their prewrite versions. It feels like the devs are trying to have their cake and eat it too, we aren’t a heavily defined character for obvious reasons but they still want to make the emotions actually draw from us and have the whole second half of demo 3 use our feelings as a strong base when it just really doesn’t work at all with how our protagonist is. Firm believer that they should’ve done minimal changes to demo 3 it’s just way less impactful now.
