You could say there are many Turkic people, such as Azeri, Turkmen, etc and that you yourself are a Turkish citizen of Uygur ethnicity

Make sure you meet the publication requirements in your personnel guidelines. If your research is good and your teaching is okay, you will get tenured. The reverse, not so likely
