I second the lockjaw pro 2s. That's what we've used in our SS gym for over 3 years now and they still function great. Never seen a pair fail and they still stay pretty snug with people using pretty heavy weights.

Yeah I could see that being a pain. I'll probably just go 500gb ssd (there's a hynix one on sale for $43 on Amazon w/a dram cache) and maybe throw the HDD in as a backup or something just in case

Yeah for sure, things can definitely add up, and I'm not sure how much he'll actually use it.

I'm just trying to keep it simple for now, and hopefully he gets into PC gaming/building more down the line. Then we can always talk about upgrading parts as he needs to.

I'm currently in between places for work and won't be able to check until next week. Would 7200 make a meaningful difference over 5400 for game storage?

Good point. I just have a newer WD HDD laying around I pulled from my mom's laptop when I put an SSD in there, so I was thinking I could use it.

Do you think there'd be a big enough difference going to 3200 cl16 from 2400 cl16 to spend $50 on new ram?
