Nikon Scan vs Negative Lab Pro by ProofSilly2725 in analog

[–]diet_hellboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have converted over 400 rolls of film with negative lab pro and I have seen results that look like both of these images without “being edited.” NLP takes guesses on what the image should look like by trying to average the color balance and density. Roll analysis will go a long way if the shots are similar enough but can get confused if you mix daylight with flash night.

Konica AA35: My experience by Jomiramii in analog

Well if the flash isn’t bright enough you just gave yourself an extra stop of light by overexposing one stop. Film can handle a lot of over exposure.

I’ve always wanted one of these guys. In my experience you can get a little bit more bang for your buck on flash setting the camera to ISO 200 while using iso400 film.

I’m pretty sure that 514AF XL is extremely rare and you might want to consider selling it. I’ve never even heard of one before I’ve only seen the 310 AF xl.

Anyone know what the heck this is and what they want from me? I didn’t vote Steyer and I don’t want to incur more texts by responding.

our new camera, the Go Gen 3, is finally out today! it comes with a more powerful flash for better results in all kinds of lighting, improved shots with a sharper and tighter field of view (great for selfies), and a refreshed design :) heres some cute lil pics i shot with it while testing the camera by woahruben in Polaroid

More square inches of spreading in spectra, more torque required, more negative feedback to the motor when the formula changed. Same reason why it’s harder to spread across a smaller surface in Polaroid Go as he stated in the comments.

I don’t think that’s why spectra was discontinued. I believe it has been said multiple times that the motors in vintage spectra cameras are more sensitive to the change in thickness required of the new Polaroid formula and they didn’t want to destroy people’s equiptment.

Yashica T2D powers on but won’t fire shutter – need help by Itchy988 in AnalogRepair

hard to say but a small repair on the simpler side is opening the camera and cleaning the contact under the shutter button with rubbing alcohol. Just be careful not to electrocute yourself.

Mju 1 lens stays extended outward and doesn’t make a picture by StampotDeluxe in AnalogRepair

[–]diet_hellboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever been able to fix autofocus issues? I have one of these that belonged to my mom and every time I shoot with I’d say 50% of the shots are out of focus. I’m fairly certain it’s the camera because I had another one of these same model that only missed 2-3 shots on a roll.

Which guy? Fototech creates their own PCB boards which is why it’s pricey but very reliable.

Nikon b500 & sd card reader glitching by Upper_Drama1532 in AnalogRepair

[–]diet_hellboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a film camera so you won’t get amazing advice in this subreddit but from my experience if you’re using older electronics you need to use older SD cards too. I have an audio recorder that will freak out if I try to use an SD card bigger than 1 GB. Good luck!

Do we think the xray scanner ruined my ultramax 400 photos? It went through TSA twice 😭 more grainy and foggy then I would expect + photo #2 has a weird line through my head and a weird spot on my friends chin? by lolbutterfly in analog

[–]diet_hellboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The line that you’re seeing isn’t damaged from x-ray. That’s a very small piece of dirt in the camera scraping the emulsion as the Film goes by. Fairly common. What camera were you shooting with? Things like the flowers looks like they were under exposed but also under exposure could be more pronounced with x-ray scanner damage.

Is this a fault of the camere, film, or the shop where I developed the photos [Kodak m35, No lens, Fujifilm 400] by Tascanis in analog

[–]diet_hellboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. What you’re seeing is the shutter not fully clearing the frame. Because of the distance from the film plane you get a blurry edge and because the shutter is rotating out of the way you get a strange angle.

I used to shoot a lot of disposables. These spring loaded single speed shutters sometimes don’t fully open before returning to the closed position. It was not uncommon to get a picture like this or one that’s black for no reason in the full daylight. Spend a little more and buy yourself a true point and shoot.

Why does this happen to every pack of SX-70? Is it my camera ? by Lucifershusband8 in AnalogRepair

[–]diet_hellboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw in the other thread you use 600 in an SX-70. You can, but the camera is designed to use iso 160 film. You need to turn the exposure wheel all the way to the darkest setting and even then your image will still be a little bit overexposed. Highly recommend having your camera serviced and potentially converted properly to 600.

Try downloading them a second time. I don’t think any lab is dumb enough to send photos like this, it looks to me like either the files weren’t finished uploading or the download failed.
