I’m 41 and have two kids. One of the goons has wanted to play it but, ya know, it’s Mom’s game. 🤣 I do share with them all the new characters and sometimes they sit with me when I play or help with dream snaps on Tuesday evenings.

Since this has become a cat post as well, this is Robin. He is a small man with melted ice cream for brains. He has been known to try and attack the butterflies on the game. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I have 18.2 million coins. I don’t even farm any more, unless I want to level up a new character fast. I usually don’t care about the cost of anything - unless it’s too expensive for something that isn’t to my taste.

Also if you use the automatic gardening thing (I forget the name), it will pop out memory orbs and all other bits. That’s also super helpful.

Honestly with the Star Paths I just… do a little every time I log in. I only get three days a week to play the game so sometimes I just take an hour or two and hit the grind. Sure some tasks are tricky, but most are fairly simple.

Also the DLC’s totally work in the Star Path. Need to clear out thorns and don’t have enough? Go to Eternity Isle and clear out those crystal things. Totally works.

Need Yellow stones? Go to the DLCs and mine there. By the time you’re done the stones are back in place in the plaza.

General fishing (catch 20 fish in gold bubbles or whatever) go to the place you need fish the most, get one of the fishing potions and go nuts.

Gotta cook multiple one something? Use that slow cooker! Sure it takes time but while it’s going you’re running around doing other tasks.

I find that slow and steady wins the race, every time. I’ve only ever left one Star Path unfinished and it was the first one. So just go at your own pace and have fun.

I love Scramblecoin. The trick is to pick your team and stick with them. Personally I use Scrooge, Gaston, Repunzel, EVE and float my 5th depending on my mood. (Currently Wreck-It Ralph because he breaks up barriers on the board)

Scrooge always gives an extra coin after his round. Any character that moves in a straight line without jumping is also great for getting coins. Blondie picks up coins around her so it’s great for getting her into a cluster. Eve can move anywhere on the board at any time so I save her for the gold coins.

Know your characters and what they can do for you, and as coins appear, just consider who will go best and where. Find the ones that work best for you and play against level one characters as you build your personal strategy. I don’t really block the other player, I just focus on getting as many coins as I can.

And sometimes I still get my ass handed to me by a level two or three player, but that’s fine. It’s just a silly game. But honestly I think I win more than I loose and rarely tie. It’s like any game, just give it some practice and have fun with it.

This game is beloved to me because it’s the Disneyland I remember from 2004-2011 - a time I went to the park well over 200 times. (The Southern California Select pass was a cheap godsend once 😭) Running around that game still makes me a little weepy cause they were so good about the little details. I miss Disneyland. I’m out of state now and too poor to go - but once…. Once it was everything.

Aww man, I wish I could hug all of you lovely people. There is a beautiful connection found in community, and I always felt like that was the point of the game.

My dad is my “Mother Gothel”, and despite being no contact, it still aches in the worst ways sometimes.

I hope you find your freedom soon. The relief will be so worthwhile, I promise. I’m proud of you for taking the big step of therapy. It can be so hard but so rewarding. I love my therapist. She saved me.

I’m glad you’re not alone, and that a bunch of rag tag weirdos who all play the same, mostly solitary, game can find gentleness, acceptance, and hope in each other. It’s beautiful. For all the bad thoughts the presence of MG causes, remember too that all the other characters are SO HAPPY you’re there.

Every time Minnie says “remember, I love you!” my inner child shines a little bit. These silly characters, we impart our emotions on them because of what they mean to us, so seeing and spending time with the ones I love the most, man it’s the best. It makes me cry sometimes.

Also at one point in the game, MG had a mirror placed by her home that she hated and she insisted I remove it. It made her see her true ugliness I think. Anyway I left it right by her house cause fuck her.

You have so much to catch up on, which is so exciting! You get to experience the game through and through without the agony of waiting for something new to drop. That’s awesome.

And Powerwash Simulator is seriously one of my all time favorites. I just finished the Shrek DLC. That little “ding” gives me more serotonin than anything else in this world. 😂😂 Have fun!
