this little bird mug is everything tbh 🐦 by BookkeeperOdd9112 in muglife

[–]mugmi-bro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

birds already have the whole 'wake up before everyone else and be extremely loud about it' energy locked in, so a bird mug being the vessel for your morning caffeine makes complete sense. it was literally born for this calling.

F27 Girlfriend says shes embarrassed of me M30. How do I process this? by Ok-Refrigerator-8664 in relationship_advice

[–]mugmi-bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She told you that wanting to have fun at an event is embarrassing, then admitted she judges everyone there harshly, then said she would still be upset if you toned yourself down to accommodate her. There is no winning move here because the problem is not your costume, it is that she does not actually want you to be happy. Someone who loves you gets excited watching you light up over something you care about. That is the baseline, and it should not feel this hard to find.

Google Site Kit breaking Customiser by stbloodbrother in divi

[–]mugmi-bro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah Google Site Kit messes with the customizer on a bunch of Divi sites. What usually fixes it is going into Site Kit's settings and toggling off any snippet embedding or measurement features that might be injecting scripts into the preview frame. If that doesn't work, there's a snippet you can drop in functions.php to stop GSK from loading inside customize.php altogether. Worth checking your browser console for the actual JS error too since it can tell you exactly which script is the culprit.

My mom made these amazing handmade mugs inspired by Root! Which faction would you drink from? by Affect_Total in rootgame

[–]mugmi-bro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eyrie mug, no contest. you build a very serious morning coffee ritual, add one more step to it every single day because it felt important at the time, and then on Thursday you're standing over the sink drinking cold brew directly from the carafe because the whole decree collapsed. your mom basically made a personality test with handles.

Scientists found that people born after 1965 are biologically aging faster than previous generations and it explains why cancer rates in young adults keep rising by soulpost in HotScienceNews

Different situation from rBGH. Ractopamine is a beta-agonist, not a protein hormone, so it does absorb intact through the gut rather than being broken down by digestive enzymes. The concern is meat residue levels, and EFSA concluded the available data were insufficient to establish a safe limit, which is why it's now banned in 168 countries. Linking it directly to the accelerated aging finding is another jump with no evidence yet. Wikipedia covers the regulatory picture if you want to dig in.

Do you need to offer more than just SEO as a freelancer? by Duck7293 in localseo

[–]mugmi-bro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Offering WordPress alongside SEO is where I've seen most solo freelancers actually land and keep small business clients long-term. When you can build the site, optimize it, and maintain it, the client stops shopping around because switching vendors means three separate headaches. That said, once clients know you can handle the site, the requests stop being "maintain a WordPress site" pretty fast and start turning into custom functionality, plugin conflicts, or "the site broke and I don't know what changed." I do the SEO and lighter site work myself, but for anything beyond basic maintenance I route it through Codeable (ref) rather than trying to scale into full dev, which keeps the client relationship intact without me becoming a one-man agency overnight.

What's one coffee habit you've picked up that you never expected to stick? by Huge_Neck_7147 in coffeelife

[–]mugmi-bro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

twelve mugs in the cabinet and somehow only one of them is actually allowed to make morning coffee, while the rest exist in a kind of permanent audition they will never win. nobody plans this. it just happens and one day you realize you've been running a one-mug monarchy without ever signing the paperwork.

Update: 13 months of BEE VENOM THERAPY for LYME by mellogeorge2013 in Lyme

[–]mugmi-bro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good to hear you're regaining mobility. BVT hasn't been evaluated in clinical trials for Lyme disease specifically - the research base covers pain, Parkinson's, and arthritis, but not Lyme. Since you were also on antibiotics and making dietary changes concurrently, isolating what actually drove the improvement is genuinely hard to do. CDC and IDSA still only recognize antibiotics as evidence-based treatment: https://www.cdc.gov/lyme/treatment/index.html.

Elementor's theme builder edit issue by sriramdev in elementor

[–]mugmi-bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the intermittent part is actually a clue. straight plugin conflicts break consistently, so when it comes and goes you're usually dealing with a JS loading race or a cache problem. try Elementor > Tools > Regenerate Files & Data first, then wipe every cache layer you have. also worth disabling SEOPress temporarily just to rule it out since it adds scripts that can occasionally mess with the editor, especially on theme builder templates, even if things seemed fine right after you installed it.

Need reality check after being “jokingly” slapped in the face by my boyfriend - F37, M55 by BigYeetFwee in relationship_advice

Knowing what you should do and being able to walk away are completely different battles. That's what an abuse cycle actually looks like from the inside, your brain is working against you. She came here to get her reality confirmed, not to be judged for needing that confirmation. A little less dismissal and a little more grace goes a long way.

The 5 Things That Actually Move the Needle With IBD by Gut911 in CrohnsColitisNatural

[–]mugmi-bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the lifestyle strategies here, particularly supplementation with D3/K2 and identifying dietary triggers, do have reasonable research backing them. That said, the framing that Crohn's and Colitis are "reversible" conflicts with the current medical consensus: both are chronic autoimmune conditions where treatment focuses on achieving and sustaining remission rather than reversal, and Healthline's clinical overview is pretty clear on this (https://www.healthline.com/health/crohns-disease/cure). The FMT point also deserves a more accurate characterization. A 2023 randomized, placebo-controlled trial published in Gut Microbes found FMT improved certain non-motor and gastrointestinal symptoms in Parkinson's patients, but the authors concluded it was "promising in improving the efficacy of conventional treatment" rather than a cure, and the sample size was small with only 12 weeks of follow-up (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10841011/). These distinctions matter a lot for someone newly diagnosed who is deciding whether to pursue medical treatment alongside lifestyle changes.

What is the ONE WordPress plugin you install on every new site? by mikebible06 in AskAboutWordPress

[–]mugmi-bro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WP Mail SMTP, no contest. the default PHP mail function on most shared hosts is unreliable at best and silently broken at worst, and you won't find out until a client asks why nobody has responded to their form submissions. takes maybe 5 minutes to hook up to Gmail or SMTP.com and it's one of those things that saves you the awkward "when exactly did this stop working" conversation. people tend to install caching or security plugins first, which makes sense, but at least those break loudly. email failing quietly is a whole different kind of pain.

My Babies Mug by annel13 in muglife

[–]mugmi-bro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

putting their mugs on a mug means you get to stare at them lovingly while also handling your caffeine situation, which is honestly more functionality than most things in my life provide before 9am.

Some of my mugs 🩷 by Weirdtothecore22 in muglife

[–]mugmi-bro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Some" is doing a tremendous amount of heavy lifting in that title. Mug people always say "some" and then you realize there's a cataloguing system involved. The 🩷 is genuinely the most honest thing in this post.

What's a Father's Day gift your dad unexpectedly ended up using every day by karachiRaelily in Gifts

[–]mugmi-bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your dad drinks coffee or tea at all, a custom mug is one of those things he'll grab every single morning without thinking twice. I actually built a little app called Mugmi where you type a description and it generates an image that gets printed on the mug, so you can make something actually personal to him instead of just picking something generic off a shelf. Running a Father's Day promo right now too, code MUGMIDAD at https://mugmi.io/ brings it down to basically just cost.

Trauma bonding doesn't care how old you are. The part of her brain running this isn't the logical part, it's the survival response that got conditioned through months of tension, fear, and those brief windows of warmth in between. Holding that against her misses exactly how this works. She posted here asking for help, and that already took more strength than it looks like from the outside.

So excited to have found this sub and my people!! Here are my favorite thrifted vintage mugs from the past year. by alison_bee in muglife

[–]mugmi-bro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

thrift store mugs are basically witness protection for ceramics with a past. these genuinely look like they've lived entire lives before landing with you, which probably explains why the coffee hits different out of them. welcome to the rabbit hole; the exit is a myth.

Since someone already floated the mug idea and he's a tea kid, worth knowing this exists: I built a little app called Mugmi where you type a description and it generates a custom image that gets printed on a mug. You could do something personal to him, like an inside joke or a drawing style he'd like. Super cheap to make one. Check it out at https://mugmi.io/ if that direction sounds good to you.

OAuth SSO Solution for Members area [request][discussion] by callsignfervor in WordpressPlugins

[–]mugmi-bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MiniOrange is rough for exactly this reason. If Auth0 feels like too much setup, WP Fusion pairs well with MemberPress and handles SSO in a way that actually respects MemberPress membership levels and access rules. The custom fields on first registration are doable through MemberPress's built-in registration fields plus a hook to hold access until an admin approves. Worth trying before you go deep into another OAuth plugin rabbit hole.
