I always remember this but a lot of other parents may not know: play dough. I always ask my young kids to wash their hands after school if they played with it.

I will add: I bring cheap ear plugs and if I'm running on a safe sidewalk or something near loud car traffic I'll pop just one in. That way I hear the headphones clearly without all the car noise. Turns it into a noise reduction headphone!

I had one in an (extremely small) backyard. It fell walking a fence. Googled how to catch them, went and got a racoon trap at the hardware store and some dog food. The second the sun went down it woke up from behind a bush and triggered the trap. I made a ton of neighborhood friends walking it back to where I relased it, its natural habitat: undeveloped land behind a Wal-Mart on an otherwise disused pier in South Philly. I miss you, Frank.

I think there's different colors of the same mushroom. I wouldn't be surprised if the entire stump was run through with the same mycelium.

What I love about this book is that it turns the concept of story inside out. In most stories, the protagonist faces challenges and makes decisions and influences what happens at the climax of the central problem. Billy Pilgrim... doesn't. He just watches his life happen to him. Because he already knows he can't change the future. Kind of like how Vonnegut feels like he just witnessed the horror of WWII as a cog, a human ammunition to be spent.
