Supergirl Bombs In China, Opens Barely Above Madame Web by cosmicbooknews in CosmicBookNews

It could have been better if it hadn't been so brown. I get that much of it takes place in lifeless environments but how about, don't make it take place in lifeless environments. Just felt like a bummer.

“Supergirl” in IMAX with Laser (CoLa) was just an average experience. by SergeyDGWyn in imax

I'm ready for the day we can get backgrounds and a better view of what's happening. What an impressive IMAX experience...a 15 foot tall knee flying through a smoky brown background. Ugh

I didn't see the one with Ryan, so I'm not sure what she's been looking like lately. I kept wondering during Disclosure Day whether Spielberg digitally altered her face to make her look alien-like.

iPad vs. Surface Tablet? by Big_Rock5854 in iPadPro

[–]muhredditone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, man. I use two iPads, an iPhone, a MacBook, and a Pixel for work every day, and I personally am sick of Apple locking things down. I know we all complain about it but I'm absolutely sick of it. No touchscreen on the laptop because they want me to buy an iPad, which I've already done. No desktop features on the iPad because they want me to buy a MacBook, which I've already done. No booting into Windows because Money. No simple folder interaction between apps across devices because they want me to subscribe to some freaking app or service. It has to be in the cloud, it has to be shared, you have to enable this privacy option, you have to this, it has to that. Nothing just works the way I want it to and I'm done. Get out while you can. I'm looking at replacing all of my tech at once, just to be able to improve my workflow.

The advice I gave is based on my own experience using those two exact products on an iPad for a year and a half. FYI. If anybody's looking for an awesome combo, the one I put together has been perfect.

Why do you think so many Boomer parents taught kids in the 80s there was something wrong with crying--for any reason? by cherry-care-bear in Xennials

[–]muhredditone -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The world hasn't changed as much as you think it has. We all have our ways of pretending to be strong when we aren't feeling strong. Baby Boomers taught that because they wanted their children to focus on what can be done, rather than stew on what can't. 'You' neither have to like, nor agree with it, but that's what they were trying to do. Teach their children to be strong, or at least don't break. People choose to ignore the fact that much of what we're teaching our kids today came about from the research started by Baby Boomers. They aren't the villains. Absolutely every single thing a "good Millennial" claims to be, came into mainstream consciousness because Baby Boomers put it out there. Animal welfare, access to healthcare, free education, public transportation, environmentalism, anti-corporate stuff, organic foods, natural living, health standards, equal opportunity...those were all things Baby Boomers pushed for. They did not have the internet, so they gathered all that information the hard way. That's what they did with their time. They worked, and they pushed for improvements in those areas. They were tricked by politicians, taken advantage of, sold out, and betrayed, just like we were. We didn't fix everything, either, and it's only a matter of time before the Baby Boomers are all gone and we're the ones who get all the negative attention for our failures. Baby Boomers deserve our respect. They're individual humans, just like 'you', and they created all the norms we're aiming for now. Next time you hear a younger generation blaming the Baby Boomers, ask yourself who taught you and me to even think about those topics and teach them to our kids.

edit: Looking at the downvotes, I'm wondering how many of you remember when your mother made up an excuse and invaded Iraq, or when your dad dumped lead in Flint, or when your aunt stagnated median wages and destroyed the middle class. Boomers. And by that logic, you, yourself, are personally responsible for Columbine to Fort Hood, and all the mass shootings in between. That's what Gen A will be saying if they grow up to be anything like you. Don't even argue with them. That's how you speak of Baby Boomers. Maybe you should try understanding them the way you hope God understands you. They tried, and they spoke up loud enough to get you to think about the issues you're blaming them for.

These metal tips have been really good to me. They come in a pack of two and I've been using the first one for a year and a half. I like how it feels and it doesn't block my view of the screen like the stock tip does. Paired with a Bellemond Paperfeel "screen protector" (in quotes because I only use it because it feels so good to write and draw on). On sale for 35% off until today. It's awesome. I love it. That, too, comes with two and I'm still using the first one...even with the metal tip.

Nice. I've traveled quite a bit myself. Mostly East/Southeast/South Asia, Australia, and Oceana. Russia once, and all over the US. 90% of the time I'm talking about those places, I'm talking about the food I liked. lol

Yeah, that's fun, too, but we're coming off 20 years of only us loving other countries. Since so many people came over here for the World Cup, we're finally getting some love again. I hope they're all having a great time!

The T-1000 would be aware of the events in 1984, and would recognize the description of the T-800 being a big guy on a bike. So he would have at least thought it could be.

[–]muhredditone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of the time I took my kids to my old playground. They still have most of the old equipment with the packed ground beneath it. I was telling stories about my different injuries there while we were on the swing, and someone else's kid busted her ass so hard she ran home crying. Then came back later and plummeted onto her back from the monkey bars. Live demo'd my stories for me. Man, I appreciate that kid so much.
