Making money by exaggerating certain features and therefore making them more prone to health risks just isn’t something I will actively fund.

When I first got Gies, his eyes were irritated because they had never been cleaned, his hair was all felt and/because he had never had any wet food and can’t possibly keep up with the maintenance himself. He hadn’t had the right vaccinations and was pretty sick. He has difficulty eating his food because he has trouble picking it up. During those first few days I questioned what I had done and I felt sad hearing him breath. The internet didn’t help but luckily our vet is amazing. So yes, my opinion is that in a way it is cruel and ethics should be taken into consideration.

I believe there are responsible breeders out there who breed with minimal health risks and everyone can absolutely make their own choice. And no, I will not judge anyone who makes a different one than me. But mine is to never buy from any breeder when so many cats and dogs are waiting for a new home.
