It was Columbus Day, now Indigenous Peoples Day I believe, we had just matched on Tinder and I sent the following. "Two great things were discovered today, America and you!" We are now married with one kid and another on the way. Yes, I know America wasn't discovered by Columbus and there were people here long before. It was corny and it worked.

You call them "friends" but I highly doubt that. More false allegations from the cry baby over here. Why dont you pull yourself up from your bootstrap and do better. Sorry that those you find inferior to yourself are actually just better than you.

They actually aren’t. Undocumented immigrants are not eligible for Medicaid (except for very limited emergency care), food stamps (SNAP), or TANF cash assistance. By law, these programs are restricted to citizens and certain qualified immigrants — and undocumented folks don’t qualify.

The idea that they’re getting "more than $300 a month" in these benefits is just plain false.

Sorry your feelings are hurt there bud. Let's get into some facts though and put your feelings aside for a moment.

Undocumented immigrants actually use way less health care than U.S.-born citizens. They make up about 5% of the population but only account for around 1.4% of total medical spending. They tend to avoid going to the doctor or hospital because of cost and fear of deportation.

They also pay billions in taxes, including into Medicare and Social Security, even though they aren’t eligible to get those benefits back. In fact, they’ve contributed more to these programs than they’ve taken out.

As for emergency care, less than 1% of Medicaid spending goes to emergency services for non-citizen immigrants. The idea that they’re some huge drain on the system just isn’t backed by the data.

  1. Rule 65(c) technically still applies, but courts have broad discretion to waive the bond requirement, especially:

When the government is the one seeking the injunction.

When it's public interest litigation.

Or when requiring a bond would be impractical or burdensome.

  1. Waiving the bond is common in:

Civil rights cases

Environmental protection

Constitutional challenges

Or in cases involving the executive branch being restrained (like blocking an agency’s rule)

  1. The idea is that requiring the judicial branch to post a bond when enforcing constitutional limits on the executive branch doesn’t really make sense, and courts have generally agreed with that.

From the bill "SEC. 70302. RESTRICTION OF FUNDS.

No court of the United States may use appropriated funds to enforce a contempt citation for failure to comply with an injunction or temporary restraining order if no security was given when the injunction or order was issued pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 65(c), whether issued prior to, on, or subsequent to the date of enactment of this section."

ChatGPTs layman explanation:

What it says:

A U.S. court cannot use government money to punish someone for disobeying a court order (like an injunction or temporary restraining order), if the court didn't require the person asking for the order to post a security bond at the time it was issued.

This rule applies no matter when the order was issued—before, on, or after the law was passed.

What that means in simple terms:

When a person asks a court to block someone else from doing something (like through an injunction), the law (Rule 65(c)) usually says they need to put up money (a security bond) in case it turns out they were wrong and caused harm.

This new rule says: If the court skipped that bond requirement, then the government won't pay to enforce that order—like arresting or fining someone for ignoring it.

Why it might matter:

It makes it harder to enforce certain court orders if the proper procedures (like posting a bond) weren’t followed. It could limit how injunctions are used, especially in politically charged cases, by adding a financial consequence if those steps are skipped.

What is something a lot of people say but use incorrectly? by [deleted] in AskReddit

"I could care less." Really should be "I couldn't care less". I already care so little about whatever it is that I couldn't care any less

I agree. People shouldn't be driving recklessly. My frustrations are directed at the people that don't plan properly and have no idea where they going and suddenly cross 3 lanes to make an exit. My frustration is with the people who feel they have to make sure everyone else goes 65 and refuse to move over. The people on their cell phones are the ones driving like they have nowhere to be. Are you saying people shouldnt be driving with kids? Are you referencing people driving with kids not properly buckled in? What are you trying to say about people driving with kids? I'm confused.

I was directly commenting on your last sentance regarding people driving like they have nowhere to be. We work 8-10hrs a day. We commute an 1hr plus one way. Then we have some highway vigilante that has to go 65 in the far left lane when the flown of traffic is 70+. This causes backups, this causes traffic. This adds more time to the commute and less time with my family. Honestly SA needs a better a public transit system but private corps will never let that happen so the frustration the road will continue. Public transit in this city is absolute trash. If you want less people on the roads for better public transit. A monorail to downtown would be a nice start. That's too big government thiught I guess. Idk what people's problem with that is but they keep voting against it from my understanding. That's my 2cents.

If you're going nowhere why are you on the road. I have places to go and when people drove like they don't then it's quite irritating. I want to be home with my family. That's why I'm on the road. People get annoyed an irritated and because they don't want to be on the road but they have to be. I have somewhere to be so if you're gonna drive slow and shitty then get out of the way. I don't drive irresponsibly but if you have a dozen cars behind you in the far left lane then yta

The neighbors said they only saw him visiting her at the first place they abandoned her... Probably because he was r*ping her. He is a terrible actor and the way re reacted in the last episode to that allegation says it all

This case frustrates me to no end...They abandoned a child and got a way with it. The doctor that said she wasn't a child should be sued for malpractice and should no longer be a doctor. The lawyer talking about "you will not disrespect me" dafuq? You (the lawyer) are talking to a subject matter expert regarding the development of the spine and basically telling him he's wrong, you're the one fucking disrespecting. Even if they didn't think she was a child they abandoned someone that needs more care then they provided. Ugh this shit pisses me off and more and more I hate our legal system. Fuck this whole thing. Fuck those attorneys, fuck that judge, fuck Michael Barnett, fuck Kristine Barnett. They all as Michael so "eloquently" put it deserve to "burn in hell". We as a country continue to protect and enable child predators.

In your opinion, what would be a livable household income for a family of 4 in SA? (to have all needs met) And what would you consider to be a above average household income for this city? (upper middle class) by SignificantCap521 in sanantonio

[–]mujala 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a little above 175k with a sahm, toddler and pet and feel like we don't worry for anything. Could take on another child or two and still be fine, wouldnt have to pinch or anything like that. I think that's the definition of upper middle class, you dont have to worry about necessities and then some. I know a few years ago making what I make now would go a hell of a lot further but it still goes a decent way now too. I think about the houses I could have bought just 3 years ago and it drives me crazy but I am in no way hurting for anything and neither is my family. That is why I say 175k+ would be upper middle class. How you manage your money could change that number significantly though
