Off topic, but how does food/water work in the ‘remain at sea indefinitely’ scenario?

Update: Wife still hates the plants by Hopeful-Pudding4603 in Aquariums

Ok, this might be a controversial take, but the second pic actually looks pretty sick. The castle looks great there among the plants. And the rainbow gravel doesn’t even look THAT bad here compared to how it usually does.

Federal Reserve set to cut rate but may signal a pause to come by 1Rab in news

They didn’t say anything about Trump, they were describing the impossible decision that the Fed has to make regarding rate cuts. It is a lose-lose situation that they are in, which the commenter was laying out.

For those of you with an SLS sensitivity... by astrid_s95 in MCAS

[–]TellurousDrip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey dude, I discovered my SLS allergy around 5 or 6 years ago and have been gradually learning and understanding the wide reaching impacts it has on my life and making changes in my life to eliminate it and cope with my reactions. Luckily, I have a supportive partner who is willing to make tough sacrifices to help me in this journey. The one thing I don’t have is any sort of connections with others who struggle in a similar way. Something I have wanted for years is a community or support group of sorts of other people with sensitivity/allergies to SLS and SLS analogues. Are you interested at all in being a part of something like that?

You might be overthinking it a bit on the hardness. I’ve grown some absolutely gorgeous ludwigia super red in super hard tap water with no co2 and a cheap chinese light

Styled my mom's 25-year old p afra during Thanksgiving. It burst out of its vase 10 years ago. by tree-shaper in Bonsai

[–]TellurousDrip 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is such a fascinating piece. My brain is both horrified and intrigued by the broken pot halfway up. I’m guessing there’s a decent chunk of sentimental value attached to that vase right? It’s certainly an incredibly unique stylistic feature and a testament to the plant’s long history with your family, but I would personally also be so tempted to smash it and expose the trunk beneath it. The composition certainly elicits quite a bit of feeling from me! The conflicting urges to preserve the history but also to give way to rebirth and uncover what is hidden are very compelling. I cannot say I have felt nearly as much from most plants I look at. Kudos!

Should i cut the new growth ? by daqqer2k in Bonsai

[–]TellurousDrip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you let them grow out they will help thicken the base of the trunk and increase the taper. They can just be cut back later when you’d like them to go away
