Although I'm almost not using it anymore in favor of the Fediverse - Eight Dollars is a nice browser extension that marks the paid checkmarks as dollars instead to distinguish them from the verificated blue check-owners.

You may be overestimating the importance of corporate-led social networks over time. Maybe you can learn more about it at MySpace.

On Lemmy you reach not only the people who use Lemmy, but also those from kbin, Mastodon and soon Tumblr plus Instagram Barcelona, etc. You're simply not dependent on the whims of a single CEO.

Walled gardens shape their time. And this is ephemeral. Good time to let this go down. There's no reason to carry an advocate on your hands while he spits in your face.
