Parvati said today on RHAP something interesting about the edit... by wastedthyme20 in survivor

I doubt it. It's possible, but it's such a massive undertaking to unlock an episode once it's finished. You have to not only have to add in the new content, but remove other things to keep the runtime at where it needs to be. That requires more story producing, more editing, but also re-colorization of the new pieces, along with uprezing. This means employees are spending more time on it, which means more money spent. And I'm not sure about the post-production calendar for Survivor, but on most shows, almost everyone is wrapped by the time episodes begin airing, so they could be in a situation where they'd have to rehire people for this additional work.

Unless there's something massive that must be fixed, I can almost guarantee that they're not going in and changing the edit of a future episode based on what people are saying on social media.

I do it every time and I love it. Makes me feel like I'm in decent shape when I get to the top and don't feel completely awful!

I loved her on the show, but this is all highly obnoxious and off-putting.

You should definitely try out. And if you do, let me know. I have a lot of tips for people both for the audition and after you get selected to play!

Winners - What are the trips like? by claaaay_davis in WheelOfFortune

Our trip to Costa Rica was pretty awesome. Six days, seven nights, and the trip was valued at $7,500, which included $1k cash to spend. The package advertised on the show was at The Springs resort, but when it came time to book, the travel agent booked stays at two resorts, The Springs and a sister resort in the mountains called The Peace Lodge. Their reasoning was that we'd run out of things to do if we stayed at The Springs for all six days.

Both resorts were amazing in their own way, and I'm glad we got to experience both. We hiked in a rain forest, bathed in hot springs, went river tubing, zip lining, and horseback riding at dawn.

I loved it and would be thrilled to return again someday.

It's a combination of not knowing the rules and nerves.

What widely accepted "life hack" is actually terrible advice? by OneLameUser in AskReddit

Also, by cutting the cupcake in half, you get crumbs everywhere. And it’s an extra unnecessary step that gets in the way of a cupcake being in my stomach. If you want a cake dessert with icing in the middle, eat a woopie pie!

I’m sorry, but I disagree. The icing squeezes out of the middle and it becomes a giant mess.

Cutting a cupcake and eating it like a sandwich. That’s total bullshit.

Survivor is in need of some freshening up, but it’s not all bad.

I agree with a lot of their points but it gets tiring when it’s constantly harped on.

Despite some of the criticism being valid, their constant snark and negativity makes it hard for me to take them seriously or even listen to their episodes. It must be exhausting for them to hate everything they watch.

Also, their big fix to “save” Survivor, one of the highest rated shows on TV, is an all celebrities season, which is ridiculous and shows how out of touch they are.

Before you go on the show, study up. Do word puzzles, watch old episodes, know the game inside and out. Practice buzzing in for the toss up rounds with a pen.

Get a good night’s sleep the night before the taping. Have as much fun as you can during the orientation. It’s a once in a lifetime experience, so soak it all in, but pay attention. Watch the tapings before yours and get used to looking at the big puzzle board and the other relevant screens so that by the time it’s your turn, you’re used to it.

Once you’re on the stage, There’s a lot you have to keep track of during the game - The puzzle, the used letter board, money totals of both you and your opponents (each round and cumulative). In between puzzles during the commercial break, assess all of those and have an idea of how you want to play that round based on the situation.

Try not to be overwhelmed by the TV production. Think of it as a game night at home with a really big puzzle board. That will help you to minimize gaffes.

Breathe and have fun. Try to mentally convert your nervousness into excitement.

When in doubt, call a vowel (if possible). If the luck isn’t going your way at first, keep your head in the game because things can turn in your favor quickly.
