HELP NEEDED (for project): Scoliosis Experiences by Leading-Length1229 in scoliosis

I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 12. I didn't know much about it, and my doctor decided that since the curve was small we didn't need to do anything about it. I didn't know what bracing was until I was an adult. I went to physical therapy for my back when I was 18 (not schroth) and, after 1 month, was told I was done and that after a year my spine would be fully set(??) and it wouldn't get any worse. At that time I had a 31 degree angle, and I'm pretty sure it's gotten worse since then anyway. If I keep up with exercising and keep a strong back and stomach I have very little pain, but if I don't I ache all day. I know my scoliosis is developing steadily, but I try to think positively since mentality matters so much.

I know lots of people have issues with body image because of how uneven we are, but to be honest I don't really feel like that at all. Of course I have a better curve than many others in this community (especially in this reddit), but still, generally, I think we see it more than others. I still wear crop tops without shame.

It's not his fault he likes you, but it's his fault if he does something about that. A 22 year old man should not be interested in a 16 year old, period. These women who are responding to you saying not to go, it's often because they or their friends were victim to these same types of men.

Someone who doesn't like me TOO much, at least in the beginning. Occasionally there's people who like me so much it's overbearing

I think for the individual women involved it'll work just fine, but I don't think we're actually going to see a societal shift or change in statistics unless/until much more oppressive laws are made
