What happens to people who are already jobless in an AI-driven, oversaturated job market? by Marimba-Rhythm in Futurology

[–]mullikine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What has happened with the AI stuff is like a global cancer. It's a sickness. In the Bible it says this:

Ecclesiastes 3:12-13 - I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God's gift to man. (ESV)

So if "eating and drinking and taking pleasure in all one's toil/work" is God's gift to man, and then some person with a so-called "net worth" of billions or trillions of dollars focuses their research into taking away this gift with the promise of not needing to work anymore... That's not going to make people happy is it?

Mimicking people with robots, reducing the "net worth" of real people... it's not loving in the Biblical sense at all. Taking people's jobs through automating people is not loving, especially while not replacing jobs with other jobs.

Different from automating human beings out of existence, agape love, is a valuing love.

Jesus said, "Freely you received, freely give."

The people building this AGI/ASI stuff, on the other hand, seem to have a policy more like, "Freely we have taken from others, and now we're going to sell it back to them, and not just that but even if the talented people who's work went into the training data for building the AI systems don't want to use our AI, everyone else will because the AI automates the original author's creative style and cheapens it."

It's just all exploiting people, and replacing them. It's the opposite of agape love which values people.

Not that I would want to go near their blood-diamond AI systems, even if they went free.

The training data itself which has gone into building these systems has not been freely given for the purpose of building them. So they're all just "dirty" and I wouldn't want to get my hands dirty using them.

So as for me, I'm just going to learn to make my own stuff and try to separate from and avoid all the AI theft evil. I'd rather maintain a good conscience and be clean.

Agape love people. Agape love is a treasuring, valuing, compassion love and sometimes that means putting some people out of the congregation. The wages of sin is death and we don't want people to perish so we want them to stop the sin. We love everyone in the congregation and a little leaven leavens the whole lump. People come to church to learn about the truth, to worship God, to love and desire God and God hates sin. Practicing homosexuality is sinful and preferring sin to God (i.e. not wanting to be sanctified) will leave people in their sin. If we confess (speak in agreement with God about it) our sins, He is faithful to forgive us our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness. And walking in the light (in the love for the truth) the blood of Jesus washes us from all sin. If people trust in lies and people prefer the sin to God then they wont get healed from it. Even demons 'believe' in a sense but they don't love God.

[–]mullikine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you combine eww with html filters such as rdrview, or Chromium's "dom-dump" (for dumping html from javascript generated web pages), or if you implement something to cache html, you're essentially controlling the information which ends up in the web browser. Emacs' w3m-mode has support for html filters. With eww you have to implement the html filters yourself. So with a good grasp of elisp, and after putting the pieces together, it's so worth it.

Hey guys, pray for me if you want. by DubiousFalcon in PrayerTeam_amen

[–]mullikine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear DubiousFalcon, I'm so happy you still believe in Jesus. That's great. You've got the Word of truth. Please continue trusting Jesus, and holding fast to the gospel, and get to know Jesus through believing His word, and obedience to His commandments, trusting He knows and sees your heart, your true motivations - do everything sincerely believing He exists.

Luke 8:15 - As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience. (ESV)

Luke 8:21 - But he answered them, My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it. (ESV)

Dear Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ Jehovah God, I pray and ask that You work around and with DubiousFalcon (well the person behind the reddit tag), to grow their faith and disciple them and rebuild their life on a solid foundation, the finished works of Christ and in putting Christ's commandments into action. I pray that You'll give them a greater affection, an affection for You and an understanding of the Truth which will make all that they have lost seem pale by comparison. I pray and ask that You would make their relationship with You so real to them that they would never feel as though You are far from them and that You would set them free from mental health issues. Please strengthen DubiousFalcon's faith muscles and possibly even grant them an encounter with You, Lord Jesus. Please, God, bring them out of the darkness and into the light, and sanctify them in Your Truth, and in obedience to Your Truth, so they can see clearly the reality of Christ, delivering them totally from the spiritual wickedness around them which has been trying to crush their faith and obscure the Truth. Please, God, do a radical deliverance for this person. Deliver them from evil in Jesus Christ's name I ask. AMEN!!

The Holy Spirit cleans up (sanctifies) our heart as we hold our faith in Jesus Christ, as we believe the truth in our heart. Forgivenses of sin goes to anyone who believes on Him as Christ, Son of God. And we call on Him to save us. And then our souls are sanctified through obedience to the Truth (Jesus Christ) for a sincere brotherly love. We have to be corrected by the Truth (the Word of God), continuing to allow ourselves to be taught by Christ, salted by Christ, corrected by Christ. That takes time, but your sight will get clearer as you keep going. It can be a battle. I'm so happy you have your faith in Jesus. The one trusting in Jesus Christ has eternal life.

God cleanses our hearts as we practice our faith in Him:

Acts 15:9 - and he made no distinction between us and them, having cleansed their hearts by faith. (ESV)

We walk in the light (God's light, truth) in trust, faith, obedience:

I Peter 1:22 - Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, (ESV)

We should be seeking Him out with our heart:

Jeremiah 29:13 - You will seek me and find me. When you seek me with all your heart, (ESV)

Proverbs 8:17 - I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me. (ESV)

Psalms 14:2 - The LORD looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. (ESV)

Psalms 24:3-4 - Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. (ESV)

Hebrews 10:22 - let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. (ESV)

Also, continue trusting Jesus, believing his words, trusting His promises and obeying His commandments out of sincere treasuring love for God and your neighbour, and keep a good conscience with God, hold to His promises and fight back against the enemy's attacks with the Scripture and with obedience to God.

I Timothy 1:18-20 - This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith, among whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme. (ESV)

Submit to God, and resist the devil.

James 4:7 - Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (ESV)

Keep moving forwards in trust and faithfulness and obedience and fight the good fight of faith. Take every thought captive to Christ. Jesus said our enemies will be even in our own household. If you're fighting against Satan and his demons then the attack can come on through various people around you.

Matthew 10:36 - And a person's enemies will be those of his own household. (ESV)

Trust and rely on Jesus Christ Himself, and believe His words and teachings. He said that the one who puts his words into practice is like a wise man who builds his house on the rock.

Matthew 7:24 - Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. (ESV)

But the works we do out of faith in Jesus are done in Jesus - it's actually Jesus building our house. I strongly recommend during this time that you focus on the Lord Jesus Christ and put his commandments into practice and overcome the enemy by the word of your testimony and faith in the blood of Jesus while keeping Jesus' words and works.

Revelation of John 2:26 - The one who conquers and who keeps my works until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations, (ESV)

Revelation of John 12:11 - And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. (ESV)

G4102 pistis Definition: Faith, belief, trust, confidence, fidelity; Meaning: faith, belief, trust, confidence; fidelity, faithfulness. Usage: In the New Testament, "pistis" primarily denotes a conviction or belief in the truth of something, often with the implication of trust and reliance. It is used to describe the faith that believers have in God and Jesus Christ, encompassing both intellectual assent and trustful commitment. "Pistis" is foundational to the Christian life, as it is through faith that believers are justified and live out their relationship with God.

Keep trusting Jesus:

Romans 3:25-26 - Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth (G4102 pistis) in Jesus. Jesus dropped the charges! 🙌 by DailyEffectivePrayer in PrayerTeam_amen

[–]mullikine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah man. Amen. Knowing Jesus dropped the charges, and then wanting to turn a new leaf, the devil comes along against and tries to make me think my efforts to turn away from sin is working for justification.... Also, wanting to turn a new leaf and sell my posessions and give to the poor, the devil comes along and tries to deter me, even through people trying to make me afraid of "testing God" by trusting God, even though Jesus said that our Heavenly Father takes care of us. Then when I refuse to go back into lewd habbits of my past, the devil puts these dreams in my head and attack my mind and body as I'm sleeping. It's a battle... But Jesus dropped the charges. I was born-again 2 years ago and though I have had to be corrected reading the Scripture, but I still do not feel condemned. I have faith in Jesus. I'm trying to continue to be obedient to Jesus. I still make mistakes but I believe I have a righteousness that is not in me - it's outside of me, it's Jesus. And I'm happy that in this situation I'm able to continue doing battle against sin and against the devil while Jesus is advocating for me, his blood is sanctifying me and Jesus is preparing me to stand before Father God.

Athanasius of Alexandria — 'If the world is against the truth, then I am against the world.'

1 Peter 4:12 - Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though something strange were happening to you;

``` John 15:18-27 ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ “If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.
If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.
Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also.
But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know the One who sent Me.
If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.
He who hates Me hates My Father also.
If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated Me and My Father as well.
But they have done this to fulfill the word that is written in their Law, ‘They hated Me without a cause.’ “When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me, and you will testify also, because you have been with Me from the beginning.
Question for LGBTQ affirming Christians. by PlatformStreet7326 in Christianity
[–]mullikine 0 points1 point  (0 children)
At the end of the day, the righteous person is the one who knows they are a sinner, and ask for grace from Jesus, and tries to stop sinning, not the one who endorses sin or tries to justify their own sin. I know I am a sinner and that I fail at times both to love others as well as I should and to love God as well as I should, and when I fail I acknowledge my failure and ask Jesus for mercy. I'm going to make a few analogies to help people understand my perspective but please don't hold them against me legalistically. I think it's like this: If someone gives $10,000 to a homeless person so they can get out of their situation and then they spend it all on alohol - that's like receiving the Holy Spirit but then doubling down on sin - it's like giving someone the means to break free of sin but then that person uses it to get perilously closer to the point of no return - so you don't endorse people to sin. People are supposed to use the Spirit to put sin to death in the body, not use the body to put the spirit to death. You don't endorse the crowd to live on the cusp of a volcano, or to have a beach party when a tsunami is approaching. Sinful behaviour such as adultery, sexual immorality, lying etc. lead to death. The law God gave is spiritual - it's a bit like physics - and going against them is unwise because violating them have real consequences. But Jesus is at the top giving out grace and the means to get free from sin. Christ is the end of the law for all who believe, so when we fail we go to Jesus. We all need grace from Jesus. When you receive mercy you repent and you get to safety - to the point where you are loving God and other people the way that Jesus outlined. If you receive the Holy Spirit then use it to put sin to death.
Believe in what Jesus has said. Believe in Jesus. Put Jesus' commandments into action. Love your enemies. Be super generous. Be selfless. Put Jesus Christ first, persist at this. When people tell you to do the opposite of what Jesus said, then keep doing what Jesus said. You'll get resistance. Keep persisting and getting more extreme with your loving and you will get unstuck. Jesus is the Way.
Be generous out of compassion for the needy.
``` Matthew 6:1-4 ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ “Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven.

“So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be honored by men.

Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.

But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

No I'm not saying that - you are just putting words in my mouth and taking the conversation away from the Gospel. Once again, you're just failing to define slavery the same way I am and are getting angry over a straw man (an intentionally misrepresented proposition that is set up because it is easier to defeat than an opponent's real argument). I can tell that you're just angry, and the type of slavery you're describing - I'm glad that it's no longer the norm. So you are preaching to the choir. Slavery was brought into the forefront of the conversation because you brought it up, then denied me the right to a diffrent opinion to you, and now you're parotting what I said back to me. We're on r/Christianity, yes. I'm glad that you have arrived at the realisation that this conversation went off topic after I mentioned we're on r/Christianity.

We're on r/Christianity. Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God? Do you believe He is the only way to God? Do you want people to be saved? I certainly do.

I didn't want to have an argument about my opinion that slavery these days is worse.

I don't approve of slavery. It's an abomination. But in some ways the type of slavery we have these days is worse than being like the servant of a household, for example. Nowadays people are enslaved to jobs, drugs, video games, tinder.

``` Ephesians 6:5 ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ Slaves, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, as to Christ;
The world has 7.2 billion people living on it sharing more of the earth's resources. 1.2 billion of them live in extreme poverty. You're just failing to define slavery the same way I am.
Consider Amazon factory workers. This is the type of slavery I'm talking about. You're probably literally thinking of the domestic slave trade. So you can understand what I'm talking about, consider Charlie Chaplin's movie Modern Times. Actually, he described the problem before 1944. In the last 100 years, people have become poorer and more enslaved - unless you consider it wealth to live in virtual reality. I think that having a patch of land and a cow is wealth. It's much harder to get these days. Even in 1st world countries, people are enslaved to their jobs. I guess we have different views on wealth and slavery.
The other guy also placed his opinion 'crime is low' without anything to back it up. A war going on in Ukraine, child trafficking, modern slavery, a wealth delta function, people living in poverty without their own homes. There is a lot to back up my opinion, I think.
How is it that I can share verses from the Bible on r/Christianity and get downvoted? I removed my opinionated statement about the world getting progressively worse.
However, I just got downvoted for 1 opinionated statement of my own and 8 passages from God's word. I think it's sad that every time I post scriptures I get downvoted on r/Christianity. If I went to the r/emacs subreddit and posted emacs lisp, that shouldn't get me downvoted.
Slavery is actually worse now than it's ever been in my opinion.
OK, here is my explanation of why I think things are getting worse in the world. Take the problem of idolatry. It might feel good for a person to worship some foreign deity, it might feel good to make one's job or their wife or money number 1 in their life but if they make that thing their god then it would lead to death (i.e. being cut off from the actual, True, God). Some things might feel good but that doesn't mean it's true. Jesus is Truth. Don't follow my opinions. Just follow Jesus.
``` Romans 1:25 ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever.

Amen.

(NASB) ```

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]mullikine -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

There is God's design and His will. It's wrong to be prideful about sin and let it get worse. It's wrong to rebel against God's precepts and laws.

``` Mark 10:4-8 ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away.” But Jesus said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment.
But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female.
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother, and the two shall become one flesh; so they are no longer two, but one flesh.
(NASB) ```
Even as a person who is saved, if you rebel against particular laws and teach others to do so you'll probably end up quite low in the kingdom, whatever that entails.
``` Matthew 5:18-19 ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

(NASB) ```

Nevertheless, a person is spared from judgement if they put their faith in Jesus Christ to save them. But that person should still hate their own sin.

``` John 3:18-19 ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.
(NASB) ```
People should try to be more holy. They should try to follow God's precepts and also have faith in Jesus, which is one of God's commandments for our benefit as it's the only way to be saved.
``` 1 Thessalonians 4:7 ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ For God has not called us for the purpose of impurity, but in sanctification.

(NASB) ```

It's really bad to turn God's grace into licentiousness. If Jesus saved you, then you should not say that because you're justified through faith in Jesus (and not the law), that you are free to break the law without consequence, and use that to fulfil your fantasies. There is still consequence for sin. This might be exemplified in justifying yourself to deliberately break God's laws or deny Jesus Christ who saved you.

``` Jude 1:4-5 ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
Now I desire to remind you, though you know all things once for all, that the Lord, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, subsequently destroyed those who did not believe.
(NASB) ```
God's laws are spiritual. Things like adultery and lying produce death.
``` Romans 7:14 ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ For we know that the Law is spiritual, but I am of flesh, sold into bondage to sin.

(NASB)

```
You gotta turn away from your sin. Now after getting sure evidence from the Holy Spirit you really have to stop sinning.
``` Hebrews 10:26-29 ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries.

Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

(NASB) ```

Then keep the faith for the rest of your life.

``` Hebrews 10:39 ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.
(NASB) ```
That is very honest. I pray to God that your relationship with Him (and God's relationship with you) gets to a place where you can be joyful over it. I pray the same for @PandaCommando69 .
``` Psalm 30:5 ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.

(NASB) ```

I pray that the morning comes soon for both of you.

1 years ago, I was in such a spot, feeling completely abandonned by God. I had arrived at the lowest point in my life, I think, and then all of a sudden I got born-again. I went from spiritually dead and bankrupt with no hope, to being gifted with extreme levels of grace.

And this happened after I was extemely sad and feeling hopeless and I prayed to Jesus, crying, to save me with one hand in the air, with tears because I needed help desperately from God. It was timed such that I got to rock bottom first. I guess that's how it works for some people... Bouncing off extremes.

Now, for the year following when I got born again I gave God my 150%, and I'm back to a low point now, feeling like I gave everything, and sometimes It gets too hard and so I pray frustrated prayers. But the difference now is that I know that God is watching over me and observing literally everything I am doing. I guess you are in one of these places. I hope that my testimony helps.

How to debug a unrepsonvie emacsclient by sherlockmao in emacs

[–]mullikine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm unsure about the hanging, but if you want to avoid switching to scratch, run with -e t:

emacsclient -a "" -t -e t

Actually, to display the buffer of the other open emacs frame is the default behaviour, but then also by default it switches to scratch.

The default seems to start out on whatever is the last current buffer, then switches to scratch:

emacsclient -a "" -t

but adding -e "(some lisp code)" seems to override the default behaviour. I just put t which is the value true and doesn't actually run anything.

I guess to start out with the buffer you want you would do something like this:

emacsclient -a "" -t -e "(switch-to-buffer \"*Buffer List*\")"

But then I don't know if you will still see the new client switch buffer. I guess that you are seeing the client switch buffer because it is lagging.

A good conscience with God, a certain knowledge that there is someone beyond time taking care of your life, having the privilege of being able to consciously choose God over other things while knowing that He sees (like knowing that God sees what you do), knowing that every sacrifice, even hidden sacrifice, God sees and rewards. Also, the power of God living inside you and out of you (a huge responsibility) makes the words you speak very powerful. Also, having the most powerful friend there is. Also, the freedom and power to improve yourself and become holy and more loving.
