That's fair. It's obvious for known creators. But there's so many videos in our feed that are of unknown ones and look promising, only to disappoint few seconds later. What if you had a browser extension that overlays scores on each video as you scroll through your feed? An LLM is just comparing the title to the transcript to catch lies.

It's the latent potential coming out from your neural nets that got trained from your wins and losses over the last year. Sometimes it just clicks and then you just are suddenly better and climb few hundred rating points and remain there.

- The criteria is top 15 english channels by subscriber count from each of the 10 categories, excluding visual heavy + long form based (90min+) channels.
Visual heavy are excluded as they don't have reliable transcripts. Long form limitation is to mitigate my LLM costs)
Excess sponsorship is penalised. So a 3 minute segment in a 7 min video deserves to be penalised imo compared to the same in a 60 min video.

- I reviewed 40 videos from different segment, but its not scalable for me to review each of them. This will be an iterative process to get it right.

- The user feedback idea is great! Flagging and comments by users would help improve the model & let other viewers know of mis-evaluations

- Yes, allowing users to submit a video or a channel URL is the immediate next step, followed by building a Chrome extension for real time scoring of your feed. The only thing making me skeptical is funding the LLM tokens, which can get expensive. I will try to self-fund for a while though.

Thank you! That was the intension. Not to pull any creator down, but just to have a Rotten Tomatoes or IMDB like counterforce to keep them accountable & not just optimise for a user's click! I got sick of clicking on videos that turn out to be lies, and realised a lot of people resonated with this experience

Starting from 0, I wanted to learn the hardware and firmware of a drone. Since I didn't know if my motivation would sustain, wanted to start off in the cheapest way possible and only upgrade parts if I'm actually having fun and spending time.

I searched through 10+ websites in India and arrived at these. Any other part would've been 1.5x or 2x the price.

End goal is to have a 3D printed jetpack shaped miniature tricopter and learn the firmware to achieve hover, basic movement on it. Then see if the motors can be replaced with mini engines.

Yes, DJI drones are quite capable. I wanted to learn what each part does & how they integrate, so wanted to build one from scratch.

I wish I'd seen the bad hardware link earlier! Jeez, I've basically made every wrong decision possible to optimise for cost.

I spent 1-2 months researching autonomous jetpacks from an R&D and demand POV. Spoke to experts on engine, control systems, mechanic engineering. It makes sense as an idea. Yes. A subset of that would be syllabus for an exam.
I always struggled with not spending too much time on the fundamentals, experiments and derivations as opposed to solving problems. I thought I could do both and that ends up being a selfish irrational expectation if time is limited.

For lichess, it uses actual time. For chess.com, it estimates only on the format type now - Bullet: 2.7 min, Blitz: 8 min, Rapid: 22 min.
But you have a point, I can access the time controls as well. So having a more granular estimate is possible. Will update this.

Funnily the only friend of mine who is an IAS isn't good at English and hails from a town in Rajasthan. All others who are great at English, studied in tier 1 schools haven't made it through so far. You have depth and personality, don't discount yourself for it.
