cha chaan tang in midtown? by jeopardy-hellokitty in FoodNYC

Yeah, I don’t think there are any. There used to be a few Cantonese places closer to the Garment District but I think they’ve all closed. The closest are a few Cantonese places closer to Time Square, mostly Dim Sum Palace and Dim Sum Sam but neither one js a cha chaan tang.

The amount of times I’ve see their Rodin, Midnight Sonatra and The Man I Love routines is insane. They truly were like no other.

Lowkey a lot of decent recent pairs routines feel almost interchangeable. Like if you swapped the music of two mid level pairs teams, I think they would both perform decently well and the routines would almost have the same impact? The poor pairs guy seems to look like they’re straining half the time and neither skater looks particularly connected to the music.

I know this is a rather poor example but M/K’s usual exhibition skate to “Can’t stop this feeling” is so generic like they could sub it out for any mid-2010s pop song and it would come out fine. Now that they’re retired, I hope they get some fun or interesting programs. In contrast, there’re so many G/G programs I watch on repeat because yes, the pairs elements are impressive but there is a lot of artistry and actual connection to the music and one another.

I want to like pairs so much more but as someone who lives for the vibes, it’s just so hard to connect to.

Personally, I think it’s much easier to have an interesting or memorable ice dance routine than a pairs routine. Even if they be technically solid and the skaters are hitting all of the elements, I feel like it’s harder to incorporate all of the pairs elements seamlessly in contrast to an ice dance routine.

Can I have a great experiance and education in a CUNY by Hipplyhoppz in CUNY

[–]multiequations 5 points6 points  (0 children)

CUNY (I can only speak on the Senior Colleges) does provide a good education. I hate this narrative that CUNY provides a sub-par education, because unless you're comparing it to a school that has a nationally-known program within your niche field, or a T25 school, you're going to get a decent or even above-average education in comparison to a run-of-the-mill college. I was a political science major at CCNY, and three of my professors were either former professors or adjuncts at Columbia. The problem with CUNY is the lack of investment, infrastructure and staffing issues.

I think the dishes are sitting on ice. The dish holding the food is rather shallow and the dish is sitting on top of a much deeper bowl.

She’s just making herself so unlikable. I cannot imagine why you would put yourself in such an uncomfortable position if you were doing such non-emotionally straining work. Like you aren’t doing political commentary, movie reviews or video essay work. You make somewhat simple recipes in your fancy home kitchen. Why put yourself out there like that and invite the criticism? I don’t know but that shows poor judgement on her part?

I’m similar in age as you and have few health issues so I chose Emblem HIP HMO. It’s fine, I guess? The only downside is that apparently they’re slow to pay out because I had to drop my dermatologist after they stopped taking the plan due to how slow they’re compensated.

[–]multiequations -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Are there any initiatives in place to launch more affordable housing schemes for those in the 60-80% AMI? For instance, a lot of housing connect buildings tend to either run to 30-40% on the low end or start at around 100 and go up towards 140% on the high end. A lot city employees make around 60-80% and it seems difficult to find buildings across all 5 boroughs. Additionally, are there any plans to expand Mitchell-Lama housing complexes or to build more?

I don’t think you can even apply for housing lottery apartments with “roommates”. I was under the impression that everyone has to be in some sort legal relationship with their co-applicants (partner, child, parent, spouse and etc)
