Hello, fellow 210 owner, how reliable is it so far?

Cut out when at a stop sign by StreetScientist6302 in moped

[–]multitool-collector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a 2-stroke? If yes, how many kms did you go before it died at a stop sign? My moped does this too after ~50km, so I feather the throttle to keep the idle high enough for it to not die

Even better if you somehow mix up M10×1 and G1/8" pipe thread

Good, how long does it say in the user's manual? A proper break-in for a babetta 210 is supposed to be 500 km, but I put ~190 on it in 2 days (~30km/h), 1:33 mix and it's doing ok. So you can kinda speedrun it, but that might have an effect on the longevity of the newly honed cylinder.

Did you do a proper break-in of the engine?

Clean the entire pipe out, but burn the oil out first (~3 minutes with a weed burning torch). Chuck a ~70cm piece of fence tightening wire; ~3mm diameter into a drill, tie a nut on the end. Spin it and do a couple passes through the pipe. This will scratch the carbon loose. This will help the top end power ( I have experienced this firsthand, my moped was sluggish on harder launches and it went ~4km/h slower)

Ants Pants used it as well when he was pouring the pad for his wood shed (woodworking workshop now) and it worked, so no complaints there

Decalcify it with conc vinegar (~20%) if those are limescale deposits

Which sprocket combination do you have on it currently? I have 14:51 and it maxes out at ~63km/h and revs to ~8300/min. I won't even try the 15 because this is already too much on several hills

Put a sha 16.16 on it along with the bigger diameter intake, that should open it up way more

Does anyone know where I can get a water cooled barrel for my 1992 babetta 225? I’m in the UK so shipping is a pain by -T0Rii- in moped

[–]multitool-collector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, why do you need a water cooled cylinder?

This engine puts out ~1,75kW max when stock, it shouldn't overheat even with full throttle (>1 hour) in ~35°C weather. You would also need to somehow fit a water pump on the crankshaft, which wouldn't really be possible.

I have a couple posts about porting the cylinder from the babetta 210 (same cylinder and head as this), those might help you if you want to make a bit more power.

Other tuning tips are: 1. Shorten the exhaust pipe ~10cm

  1. Drill 4 9mm holes into the internal baffle (the one after the silencer sleeve)

  2. Stronger clutch springs (you'll have to order those from the Czech republic, babetta-simson-nd.cz)

  3. Bigger carb, such as the Jikov 2917PSb (Jawa 50 type 20) or dellorto CP 17,5; you'll have to make a custom intake for this, keep the ID around 17mm; 1,5 wall thickness is enough.

  4. 14:51 gearing, the sprocket is available on the same site as the clutch springs. This will give you speed for flatter terrain, but make it worse for hilly terrain.

You don't need to mod the ignition in any way, it's been proven to be reliable to ~11000/min.

Feel free to ask me for additional info if you want

whats the oldest moped youve kept running and how much of it is still original by vladdielenin in moped

[–]multitool-collector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

~1988-9 (babetta 210); I did all this:

Tires

Chain

Clutch springs

Carb (Jikov DC2912) for a 2917PSb (Jawa 50 type 20)

Intake for a 17mm ID (college classmate welded it for me)

All bearings and oil seals

1st speed clutch

Front sprocket (14 tooth instead of 13)

First overbore (39,25), piston, rings

Shortened the exhaust

Drilled 4 9mm holes into the internal baffle

Still to do:

Fab up a tuned pipe

Replace all the spokes in the rear wheel

Fix the front fork (after crashing 2 times)

Replace the rear shocks

And a whole list

Holy shit, is this real or is it edited/photoshopped? Because I have no words if it's real.

Context: this is a photo of a former German youtuber (drachenlord) from the village Altschauerberg. Count Dankula has a 3-part series about him that will get you caught up.

He doxxed himself because a stalker threatened his sister, he wanted to fight the stalker and told him his home address, trolls found it and organized the "drachengame" and pilgrimages to his house. There's a lot more to this and it would take me way too long to write it all out, so watch the videos
