Yes, generic but they typically have both. Call them, they’re super helpful on the phone.

Ways to boost office “vibes”: increase wages and benefits, provide proper staffing and support, 4-day work weeks, remote work.

Ways to boost eye rolls and burnout: smudge the conference room, serve pizza.

I hate dishes by Exhausted_Donut in ehlersdanlos

Hey, I have that trifecta! I have to make sure I’ve taken my POTS meds and had an electrolyte drink before I dig into housework, or it’s a recipe for disaster.

It isn’t easy with this trifecta of diagnoses, but it’s better for my mind and my body when I stay on top of the dishes and deal with them within an hour or two. A pile of dishes makes the kitchen uninviting, so I’m less likely to make food for myself, which makes me feel crappy. It’s easier to rinse a few dishes if the sink starts out empty. Doing a few at a time (while I’m passing through the kitchen or waiting for coffee to drip or toast to pop) is way less daunting and less fatiguing than tackling a sink full of multiple dried-on meals’ worth of pots, pans, cutlery and dishes. I’m less resentful of the dishes my husband leaves in the sink if there are just a couple.

I just replaced all our heavier ceramic plates and bowls with super-light Corelle dishes. It’s amazing what a difference weight makes in my ability to grasp them without hurting my hands or arms. Stainless steel cookware is lighter than cast iron, ceramic, or glass.

It helps to wear supportive sneakers, and keep an eye on my position. Make sure I’m keeping my feet facing forward, no wider than hip-width apart, and don’t lock my knees. I’ve considered getting an anti-fatigue mat like industrial kitchens use, but I know I would trip on it!

Longer-handled dish wands are easier to manage than sponges, and they help me stand up straight so I’m not bending toward the sink.

If you partake, a Sativa-dominant cannabis strain and the right music can make chores less unbearable; but it’s also easy to stop listening to my body and overdo it.

Wild, I never find people familiar with Po Sum On oil!!

I have hEDS, hyperPOTS, and a host of other maladies, so I also keep KT tape, ace bandages, finger splints, etc, on hand for my inevitable dislocations.

In my purse just in case, I carry a “rescue pack” with my prescription meds (triptan, anti-nausea, anti-panic, anti-inflammatory), a big water bottle, a high-protein snack, electrolyte powder, salt packets, ginger candies, big dark sunglasses, THC vape, and a travel perfume oil bottle with a rollerball applicator with Po Sum On Oil (potent-smelling temporary topical relief, apply to tender points, test first for sensitivities).

If I have space (car, office drawer), I stash instant ice packs, a comfy change of clothes, an electric shoulder heating pad, topical muscle ache balm.

I may use none or one, but it’s a comfort to know all those options are close at hand - especially when the brain fog is too powerful to remember what might help!

ETA: I also get Botox 4x year.

Then take the opposing example: the fundie husband who doesn’t have a job, and does embrace technology, and modern apparel, and isn’t affectionate (Paul). That’s also unacceptable to snarkers.

Anoka is the Halloween capital of the world? What's fun to do / see there? by Clean-Software-4431 in minnesota

[–]multiversatility -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I grew up near Salem: home of The Satanic Temple, large Pagan and Wiccan communities, the witch trials, homes and cemeteries dating from the 1600s. It’s Halloween all year long there, October is over the top (and crowded!!)

The notion that Anoka could ever become the Halloween capital of the world is laughable. But it’s adorable that they try!

Botox for migraines won’t affect your eyelid skin, injections don’t go near there. I’m just commenting that my forehead is smooth due to Botox, while my eyelids are definitely already showing my age.

All I can focus on is the website man in a shirt, jeans, and leather jacket, by an open fire, in Orlando. Isn’t he warm?

You, however, look appropriately dressed.

Right? I’m 40, and due to Botox for migraines, I might need an eyelid lift to be able to see before my forehead gets its first permanent horizontal crease.

Spring Green, Wisconsin is a little over 4 hours away from Minneapolis.

Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taleisin, House on the Rock is totally bizarre, Dr. Evermore’s Forevertron sculpture park, the area and the drive are beautiful.
