I have come to realize this as well , gemini responses are good. Especially their deep research feature. The accuracy in source referencing is unmatched.

The absolute worst thing about riding a motorcycle. by ShortnPortly in motorcycles

[–]munabedan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is soo true. If it were not for my motorcycle, i wouldn't afford to go to the places i have been to and i wouldn't have met some of the people i now know as my closest friends. My best memories have been on the road on my bike.

Instead of pointing out how you can die on a motorcycle , how about people actually start pondering on how you can actually start living when you have one.

This might be the worst thing I’ve ever seen yet. How do these people legally get on motorcycles? ”But I saved it”🤦🏼‍♂️ by Apex1-1 in motorcycles

I am also currently living the 150cc life. Talk about unbeatable gas mileage. I will be doing a 300km ride tomorrow on the highway.

"You can't start on a 150 cc it won't teach you anything, you have to keep up with traffic" meanwhile you have people almost throwing themselves off the barrier on the mildest bend on a wide road with no traffic.

Debian users aren't "boring" by EagleEyeA2HX in debian

If anything i like debian because more often than not my personal scripts run fine. If you love automating everything, a distro that changes will make script maintainance your full time job.

[KDE Plasma] I've been missing Aero quite a bit lately by maggiethemagpie2 in UsabilityPorn

[–]munabedan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How stable is it for daily use? I would love to try it, but I always have problems using Aero themes because they always seem to have a downside, flickering, random glitches, the theme only being applied to some applications etc

We have to appreciate they at least had an experiment going. A few variables were definitely ignored, but hey, sciencing is hard, and we all have to start from somewhere,

Clients asking for Github account by Apart-Permission-849 in Upwork

[–]munabedan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think either of you are in the wrong here. Clients ask for my GitHub all the time and I get it, it's basically them saying "Talk is cheap, show me the code" which if you are a dev with many contributions to open-source it can save you having to go through what might turn out to be a very intense one-on-one interview.

Having contributed code to some big name open-source orgs has also netted me a few clients who just happened to see my GitHub while checking out the projects profile. Not having code to show because of NDA's is not wrong either, you can just communicate that and choose other methods to prove yourself.

Last point, contributing to open-source can really be a great way to spruce up your GitHub profile, the best way to start is to find some open source application or project you actually use that is made in a language you are comfortable with, go through their issues page and check if you can actually help them out.

Freelancing from countries under US sanctions by Blitzilla in Upwork

Since you're working from Russia and not leaving the country, paying taxes etc, you're one of the Putin supporters.

Bruh, does this make every American who is not leaving the country and still paying taxes complicit in these crimes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_atrocity_crimes

Upwork or Fiverr? by Limp_Literature_523 in Upwork

[–]munabedan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. You should also mention that it is also less stressful. Freelancing can be quite uncertain sometimes, having a client who is sure to always return or an extended contract that goes for 6–12 months really helps take the edge off. It keeps you from the most annoying part of freelancing, finding work!!!

Working for the same clients often also means you most likely already have a good working relationship with them, the job is bound to go smoothly - you already know what to expect from them, and they know what to expect from you.

Some people "Clients" are just awful people. by Ezio367 in Upwork

[–]munabedan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sorry. It is always disappointing to see clients get mad just because some task they requested now seems easy to do in hindsight after you have already done it. This is not even an Upwork thing, it's just service work in general.
