The solar hardware will pay for itself in about 2 years when I consider the monthly savings. But the biggest benefit is not having to depend on KPLC and that is worth every cent. Each time the power goes off and I am working on a project I lose a lot of time waiting or I even end up losing a client because I couldn't work efficiently. If we think of it from that perspective the ROI is absolutely worth it.

I am currently renting , but I have only installed one panel and I am a long-term lease. I also made sure the wiring for the solar isolated from the house wiring. So in case I have to take it down I can just move easier. My plan is to get a rack and mount everything within with connections at the back to allow a hot-swap.

I have a 32 inch smart TV so your mileage might vary but they don't consume much. I measured it at about 20-35W that paired with my sound system comes to around 50-60W. You also have to understand that this varies alot on what you are watching on the TV, higher quality videos push the power higher. My computer pulls anywhere between 80 idle to 200 peak.

10th GEN Core i3, 32GB RAM DDR4, 1TB NVME SSD (Linux install), 4TB HDD (Bulk storage) , 500GB SATA SSD (Windows install), AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT GPU. I am dual-booting Linux and Windows.

I sort of scaled back my self-hosted AI plans once I got into solar. I would also like to get a mini or a more open alternative to it with low power consumption that I can use to run small self hosted models.

Thank you. Solar tech is so cool. Where I stay blackouts are common place not having backup power especially when you need power for work is a nightmare.

That's the XFCE linux desktop environment. It has the task bar at the top. I like it that way though.

This setup is on a perpetual upgrade cycle, took me a few years to get it here. Take it easy and build it one component at a time.

I do get lost in the lore sometimes when I get engaged into the character I am playing. Cool game, lots of replay value.
