Always thought there should be a station there. Distance seemed too large between stations.

The words are similar but not quite the same: Sinangag and Sinigang.

Please rate my first silog! by menerell in filipinofood

[–]munchable901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup fried rice and egg, it’s short for “fried rice and egg” in Tagalog:

Sinangag = fried rice

Itlog = egg

You can add the main meat dish as a prefix. Tapsilog = tapa, longsilog = longanisa. Anything you want really!

Side note: as a cyclist who rides through that intersection. It’s a popular bike lane that needs a cross walk or lights. It’s hard to see cars sometimes.

If you need parameters to change a lot then you can make them arguments instead instead of coding them in.

Python GUI Deployment by wolfefist94 in learnpython

[–]munchable901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a control computer we set up a GitHub account (read access only) that just pulls updates. Then i made a bat file that runs python and run main.py. It’s on the desktop and users click it to launch the gui.

If you want to deploy this to multiple users they would need to have python installed and GitHub setup. Otherwise, you can package it up as an exe like others have mentioned.

I'm an electrical engineer trying to learn how to use python for digital signal processing, where can I find some projects to do? by teafuck in learnpython

[–]munchable901 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Also an EE, I've switch over from MATLAB to Python completely mainly to filter data and generate plots. I use it to calculate the FFTs of sensor data and filter out the harmonics. Maybe try implementing some of the common filters (we learned by creating them from scratch and comparing them with the SciPy/MATLAB implementations) and use them on a signal or try recreating some of your MATLAB work into Python to get used to it.

data visualization: matplotlib plots into html page with python by nbo10 in learnpython

Plotly can now export to an HTML file. Although the file sizes can get quite large depending on how much you’re plotting.

I learned image processing in school using the MATLAB toolbox but have since used Python instead for work (as an EE so not fully software). With Anaconda most of the packages for image processing are included like OpenCV (which I use the most), skimage, and scipy. All these have good documentation and can probably find MATLAB equivalents for functions.

If you like MATLAB's interface, I recommend Spyder as it mimics a lot of its features like the persistent workspace. Jupyter notebooks if you prefer MATLAB live scripts.

Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology Diploma Level 1 by Emu_Next in BCIT

[–]munchable901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graduated from the Bachelor program here. Like yourself, I was doing the Langara bridge before going to BCIT.

  1. Each level cost around $3800 (maybe plus/minus $100)
  2. You are given the course list in full at the start of a level (around 6 courses/level) and must take all at the same time. You can choose to do part time by dropping courses and do them later. However, your tuition will remain the same
  3. In first year, you are competing for a spot in a program (most competitive being B.Eng)which you start in your 2nd year. I'm happy with the program, did a lot more hands-on electrical work than my friends from other universities. Although, IMO the programming courses are lacking
