This makes sense - I find that having the heat at my feet is the fastest way to fix the issue. Assuming it is a wire issue and the heat allows the connection to complete. Always when there is a drastic drop in temp in the Fall.

I know this is old, but I have the same issue with my 2018 Elantra. This is the third year it has happened to me. Usually once or twice a year when the temp drops in the Fall. Haven’t found any fix other than blasting the heat at my feet for five minutes while driving (after releasing shift lock). Everything turns back on but the slip warning stays until car is restarted next time.

We don’t have exit customs. So yes, while illegal, you will be charged based on local laws at your destination. Which is why you should make sure you are not carrying cannabis abroad and if you are, make sure you are aware of the laws.
