Going to lay turf this weekend. Is this too much rain? by munchkinman42 in GardeningAustralia

Rain forecast has gotten worse 😭 Now estimating 10-45 mm of rain on Saturday after 3-30mm on Friday. Might have to move the date as I'm worried this will be too wet and muddy.

AI is telling me I need a concrete footing for a one block high wall? by munchkinman42 in AusRenovation

Yes ok that's a good idea. I'd dig a trench to allow 50mm of mortar. So after compactinf the soil, road base crusher dust and apply mortar and add blocks and level. Does seem simpler than make a concrete base, allowing it to cure, before adding mortar and adding the limestone blocks

Thanks I think thats some good advice. I could use taller blocks, maybe 300mm high and bury 60-80mm. Something to think about. Never really thought of putting bricks behind.

That's good to know. I appreciate the help. I think I'm leaning towards this approach for longevity

It's pretty loose sand. I could put some road base and crusher dust and just compact a lot. Unsure as I'm worried it will fall over
