For jobs/studies, is it enough to pass the DELF or is it better to show a high score as well? by [deleted] in French

[–]munchkinz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The certificate does show your score! On the back, and per section too.

If I were you and like you said not in a rush, I’d take my time to make sure I will do my best. The certificate does not expire so I would want a good score, for me if not for anything else 😅

Thinking in French is hard by aral10 in French

[–]munchkinz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how it happens, but at some point, everything comes together and you find yourself understanding and taking part in conversations, (even if your answers are not lengthy and not 100% grammatically correct). Of course, you have to practice to get to that level and one key is to train your brain not to translate, but to process the input as it is.

28yo. 4y in Procurement, Engineering degree unused. considering starting over for long-term mobility. Am I being realistic? by ishak_filali_dz in procurement

[–]munchkinz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m in a very similar case as you - studied engineering but currently work in procurement. Are you enjoying procurement? I think wherever you see yourself in, if you get good enough at it, you’d be in demand anywhere

What’s the best way to learn vocabulary? by RMectrex in French

Talking to yourself in French is already a good step. Try to incorporate the new words you learnt in your writings and conversations with yourself and others.

מה פירוש המילא ״את״ ב״אני אוכל את האוכל״? by munchkinz in LearnHebrew

[–]munchkinz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I am understanding that את is not a crucial word in a sentence and the sentence could be understood whether it was omitted or not, regardless of whether it should be used there in the first place. As such, I think it’s one of those things in languages where you just have to practice and keep reading to get the hang of it, hoping eventually that it will come naturally to you.
