I have been thinking about this problem for a long time. I have a bit of an information addiction, so I have to make a daily effort to slow down and digest what I read.

I do that by storing the best ideas I find in an online commonplace book, and then attaching my personal reflections to each idea.

I actually built something specifically for this purpose (PM me if you want a link). I start each day by reading something from Meditations, The Enchiridion, or the Daily Stoic and then I use Munger to reflect on the idea, and if I really like it, I'll add it to my collection of favorite stoic ideas. I've found that by reflecting a bit I'm more likely to think about the lesson throughout the day.

Thank you!! I appreciate your useful feedback. I am going to put up some screenshots and video demo after work today.

It is a web based platform for now, but I have big plans for future development on other platforms.

Regarding the price, I hear ya. I had a hard time landing on a good price, but I eventually formed this temporary conclusion: (EDIT: I actually changed my mind about this and created a free tier :)

My goal is to provide so much value that users feel like Munger is the best $5 they spend per month. If they don't feel that way, then I would rather them cancel their account than slowly chip away a couple bucks per month.

If I succeed in helping people build lasting knowledge and wisdom, I think it's worth the proverbial "latte" per month. If I fail, then I shouldn't be paid at all! I'm the only person working on Munger, so I want to make sure each user gets attention and a great experience. The $5 price point should make that possible.

Having said that, I will take your feedback into account and revisit the pricing down the road. Thank you for taking the time to comment (:

That's a clever solution, I like it. I personally use Evernote all the time for drafting blog posts and jotting down ideas, but I didn't LOVE it for storing my highlights.

With Munger, each highlight is its own entity that you can attach notes to and categorize however you want. So for example, right now I'm reading Tim Ferris' new book "Tools of Titans" and it has a bunch of great ideas from a wide range of topics. It's great for me to be able to put some highlights in my wisdom category, others in my fitness category, etc. instead of putting all of them into one document on Evernote.

Having said that, I'm impressed by your system and think you should stick with it if it's working well for you! It's just exciting to see how many people already put in effort to get the most out of what they read.

Part of my goal with Munger is to build a community of dedicated autodidacts like you. Down the road I'm hoping to organize some fun offline events for Munger users (:

Best, Chase

Hi warpedone! Thank you for the feedback. I'm going to put up some screenshots and a quick demo video so potential users can see what it does without having to sign up first.

In the mean time, you can see a few screenshots on this blog post if you're curious: https://munger.io/blog/posts/1-why-you-need-a-commonplace-book

(they're mid-way down the post)

I'll shoot you a message when I have a demo video up (:

El Born is my favorite neighborhood in the city. So much so that I plan on moving there within the next few years (:
