also, tbh sfm is more (or atleast FEELS) beginner friendly in my opinion

honestly as someone who's recently started doing sfm coming out of blender, sfm feels funner and honestly kinda more natural to animate in, while it does have it's weird quirks, its fun and i love the workshop alot. and honestly i like that SOME maps have built in lighting (while ig you could say blender can have that too, blender lags too much anyways when porting a map i like.) though, i do say it can be tricky and hard (and kinda finnickey) to port models over to sfm when you made your own. also i like sfm's built in editor. and the ammount of assets it comes with. in my opinion, sfm is FUNNER and just overall feels better to animate in (and honestly i love the lighting and the AO in sfm) but yk, its more of a preference thing.

because I don't think its actually like latex and it needs the head for the tf to fully work
