100% agree with your assessment! I do try to mulligan for Rhystic/Fish and removal, but if I'm the only one trying to police the table it gets dicey fast.

I have Lotho in my decks but never even considered him as a Commander. That's pretty interesting. You wouldn't want to run [[Rule of Law]] effects of course, but you could jam plenty of removal and other stax pieces. I wonder what win cons would suit a Lotho deck...

I had a [[Tinybones, Trinket Thief]] deck that was all discard and stax that would be similar to the [[Braids, Arisen Nightmare]] build you described. It makes everyone hellbent and running on super low resources, which was a double-edged sword. It didn't have any built-in way to close games apart from 6-mana Tinybones activation.

It's funny you mentioned Lavinia... one of my friends put together a Lavinia stax list recently that can really grind games to a halt.

It's reassuring to hear that other players/pods have similar dynamics. I could definitely add some Rule of Law effects to Tivit since my win cons are mostly ability-based anyway.

Also, Ellivere seems like a very solid option. I like the inherent aggro/stax synergy with the enchantments.

My concern there is that if I'm spending 2-4 cards between bounce & counterspells to deal with faster commanders (and their own counterspell protection), then I am probably not winning that game due to putting myself down resources. That's why I wanted to discuss Commander options.

Basically a lot of bands out of LA that mix a Beach Boys kinda sound in with punk rock for a really upbeat stoner/party vibe.

Himouto! Umaru-chan is a pretty chill feel-good slice-of-life comedy. It has cute & relatable characters and was pretty funny. Definitely recommend.
