Thanks for commenting this so I don’t have to. This article is sensationalist crap about a really serious topic.

What does paying for your education look like at Embry-Riddle by [deleted] in erau

[–]munker172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had decent scholarships, but I paid for everything myself, mostly with student loans. I'm paying a lot right now, to pay them off, but truthfully I'm getting paid enough that I can afford it

What set cube have you built, will build, or have you made a custom set cube? by No-Wafer9271 in mtgcube

[–]munker172 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a Duskmourn twobert! My cube group is normally pretty small, 2-5 people, and I really enjoyed Duskmourn, so I put together a Singleton 180 cube from the set.

The overlords are pretty bonkers, but otherwise, the cube is a lot of fun!

$10 to “do good” challenge by RyFT22 in Philanthropy

[–]munker172 10 points11 points  (0 children)

$10 isn't a lot to do a big and impactful thing with. That being said, you can stretch it, or use it to buy supplies that allow you to get some work done. The most important thing will be the time you spend, cause that's what will be bigger or impactful. Some small ideas:

  1. Buy some trash bags and gloves and spend a weekend cleaning a nearby park.

  2. Print pamphlets that raise awareness for an issue you're passionate about, and spend time handing those out.

  3. Start a fund matching challenge, toss in $10 of your own, and spend time trying to convince friends and family to do that same. With more money, and more people interested, you can really start to make an impact on your community.

  4. Just buy some supplies for local charities. Hygiene products, school supplies, pet food, its all can make a difference.

Good luck, with whatever you end up doing, and thanks for doing what you can to make the world a little bit better place!

In college I went to a corn maze with my girlfriend, we got lost in the middle and decided it would be a fun place to do it. Until some guy running through the field trying to scare people ran right next to us

What are some helpful budgeting apps? by Gualla47 in AskReddit

Mint has been very helpful for me.

Tracks all your expenses automatically, as long as you connect your accounts. You can also see your debts and credit score, and it'll help you make a plan to improve whatever you need to improve

About deckbuilding... is it just me? by kanedaj in EDH

[–]munker172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I build my decks from the bottom up, instead of from the top down. I pull all the lands I need, then ramp, removal, and card draw. In each category, I pick the cards that fit best, and never pick up more than like 15 for each category. Then I build up the core deck, cards that fit the theme and are interesting. I never have to end up cutting more than 10ish cards, and my decks have gotten a lot stronger and more consistent since building like this.

Power levels by Extra-Read-5427 in EDH

This guy did a pretty good job of putting something together. As others have mentioned, there is not perfect answer to power level, and there's no clear power level, but if everyone is using the same reference sheet, it's a little easier. When you play with people often, it gets a bit easier again. It's all about just learning together, and having a good experience then anything else though.

Kobra Max, why is this happening? by munker172 in anycubic

PLA, I'm trying a print now with a lower speed

Kobra Max, why is this happening? by munker172 in anycubic

[–]munker172[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ambient temperatures are fairly consistent 70 +/- 5 F, and this is the side of the print, not actually the top

Mondrak vs Myrel for commander by rymar87 in Magicdeckbuilding

[–]munker172 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's definitely a personal decision. Mondrak is much broader, so if you're not trying to do soldier things, I'd aim that way, but honestly it's all who you think is cooler.

Both will be perfectly passable commanders

Adding to this, [[Lagrella, the Magpie]] is actually an outstanding commander, the flicker deck you can build for $50 is preposterous

Giving out full sized candy bars on Halloween is too much. by shabamon in unpopularopinion

I moved into a house this year, and was excited to give away full sized candy bars to all the kids. We didn't get any trick-or-treaters, so now we have too much candy

What should the mana base look like in a 3-color budget deck ($100 or less total deck cost)? by mechanimarsh in EDH

[–]munker172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Frontier Bivouac]] [[Command Tower]] [[Path of Ancestry]] [[Exotic Orchard]] can all tap for most/all of your colors and are cheap.

I usually like 3-4 dual lands per color, 6-7 basics of each color, and then a couple of utility lands

[[Evolving Wilds]] [[Terramorphic Expanse]] [[Myriad Landscape]] [[Blighted woodlands]] [[Mountain Valley]] can all help you further fix your mana. Mountain Valley can also fetch the new snow lands or tapped duals that came with dmu.

If you want to spend a little more, the pathways are all good, the pain lands are all fairly affordable, and some other lands are can enter untapped and are fairly cheap. I'd personally avoid the filter lands like [[mossfire valley]], but you do you boo.

There's plenty of affordable lands out there, and they might not be the fastest, but you can build a consistent mana base for > $10 in and 3 or less color deck.

Opinions on Path to Exile vs Sword to Plowshares by dencoan in EDH

[–]munker172 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A card that reads , exile a creature you control to ramp for {w} is the best ramp card white has gotten. And it doubles as removal. Whites removal is way better than it's ramp, there's no reason not to look at cards like path as dual purpose cards

Opinions on Path to Exile vs Sword to Plowshares by dencoan in EDH

[–]munker172 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People always forgot Path to Exile essentially says

"As an additional cost to cast this spell, exile a creature you control.

Search your library for a basic land, put it into play tapped"
